I observe the stimulation of my feet, How tendons tense and then relax again. I am surprised that where I once felt pain, Sensations are absent beneath this sheet. This funny thing sends pulses through me fast. Legs twitch without my explicit consent. Although they move, they look like hard cement: The way they used to be in their white cast. It's strange because I want them to be limp... They won't walk anyway, so what's the use! I love my wheels, have nothing left to lose. Just let me be a lion, not an imp. My wheels are fast, they do just what I need I need no stimulation of my feet! *** March 14, 2017 Copyright ©Darren White

Bless your heart! I can't fully imagine the feel of 'its my body, its not my body, its separate, its weird, its strange and odd', oh, on and on it must go in your head. Well, we aren't are bodies, they aren't the eternal part of us. What you're feeling is to a large degree what aging feels like as your own body betrays you, changes and becomes unfamiliar. You're already a lion, but a gentle, loving and loved lion who is more likely to purr than growl. We think of you w/ love, CayCay & Kyle

A purring lion, I like that :) And yes, I realise that we all get alienated from our bodies as we grow older, it's just that perhaps I started younger than most.

Oh my goodness Darren. In my eyes you are the lion and what he stands for. Remain him always. And yes, he is my favorite character from the movie "Wizard Of Oz". I will not touch your words of true life thus allow me to let them stand. Well done entirely.

Lisa, thank you for the Lion from the Wizard! I hadn't thought about it like that yet :) It's absolutely not necessary to talk about real life, I am content to write about the poetic reflection only.
