It wasn’t just that he’d forgot his jockstrap - Put the man from Kingsbury in a flap - Also last night’s curry - Added to the flurry - Worry was hurry to find a stopgap……. Belle

Love the title, Linda. I've often wondered what goes on under those things. If I may suggest, it seems to me that as funny as this piece is, the last line needs a syllable to make it more compatible with the first two. A simple "and" would work.

LOL Still, the stressed/unstressed syllables could be better, as I re-wrote in my response. Perhaps I'll change it. Thanks for making revisit it!

Linda, perhaps I misread before. I thought I counted only 8 syllables in the last line, whereas the first two have nine each. Mea culpa. It's a funny piece no matter the meter.

I appreciate your suggestion and considered it myself, as it rolls of the tongue better. However, sticking strictly to the form, I have enough syllables as is. I sometimes struggle with stress and syllables. "chill winds put him into a flurry" might work - having one unstressed and two stressed syllables. What do you think Jim?
