My finger hovers Shall I turn you on today You lie there tempting me I need to know what buttons to press But when I press those buttons You respond immediately and burst into life Every Wednesday you leave me little messages I try to ignore them but you are so persistent You want to update I want to write I press any key to continue And you ignore me and update anyway My husband is fed up with the distress you cause me He has a cunning plan to fix you forever ... No more automatic updates From now on you and I can live together in perfect harmony I can press the right keys to update you when it suits ME Now I am in complete control! How true? just left my daughter-in-law's house with her laptop still going on 12 of 24 updates. She doesn't use it often, she has an Apple 5. Maybe tomorrow I can finish what I was doing there.

Strange - isn't it how the internet has changed our lives. When the telegraph was invented they said " What hath God wrought?" I think that we our in the computer age for better or worse. Hi Jan, that's a great feeling to get one over the auto update process ! I used to think my laptop was possessed as it would burst into life at 2am once a week to update. Doh... that taught me not to leave it in sleep mode :) Steve

It is such a pain especially if you want to use the PC and it has a massive update to do - now I can control it not the other way around:-) hugs jan xx
