my thoughts lets go of a thousand things
yet, I can easily recall every detail
on the day of your funeral . . .
oh, it was a slow drive down a winding long road
following that black hearse . . .
then, in the snow I was walking, mindless
as the wind blows back my hair
and snowflakes pause in the trees
still cascading from tangled branches
falling like weeping tears down, down, down
and branches moan and groan
oh, I am lost in this forever grief . . .
and pristine snow drifts in the cemetery
where a headstone is buried deep in white
with but one word revealed
only one word can be seen
in my memory . . .
