Honor

Honor will endure as honor surely will, For honor is eternal or its value will be nil. It's not about fame or the trophies you amass, It's more about doing the best you can with class. It was your intentions, as there were, That brought clarity to the blur. As honor stepped forward to win the day Obviously in an honorable way Everyone knew it was here to stay, Leaving them in silence awe with nothing else to say.

"It's not about fame or the trophies you amass, It's more about doing the best you can with class." Perfectly agree with this statement. Honor is much more than just worldly fame or recognitions ! It comes through acting according to clean conscience and enhancing self respect. Words of wisdom dear friend ! Have a great week.

Silence speaks volumes, it is true, but there are times that honor can be stolen from you, ill will spread with intent, can stifle honor if its meant. Then there is nothing that one can do or say, but very sadly, walk away. Oh its possible to rebuild honor and start anew, and hope that the scars left dont show through.

Very mindful comment, SV. I agree with your thoughts on the matter. It takes a strong person to walk away, but sometimes it is the best solution to someone that being dishonorable towards you. Have a great weekend! Bill

Hi, Bill! You have here a very needed theme for these days about which you’ve written truths, needed saying. This is a poem that needs a show in the daily newspapers, in Sunday Schools, school classrooms. Honor is a character trait, as you well state here, that is developed as well as God endowed. An important poem! Thank you, sally xox

Wow! A word that should be so valuable and valued --- that we hardly hear anymore (except in the context of an 'honor guard,' or that horrible misnomer, 'Your Honor,' the Mayor. Grrrrrrr.) :) gw

The manner in which you have presented your thoughts is commendable. Your words on the intrinsic nature of honor are profound. It transcends the superficiality of worldly accolades and material possessions. It is rooted in one's intentions and the values that one holds dear, which you have exemplified with great honor, dear Bill.
