Goodbye
Time, like a river, flows over rocks and hills
until the moment it finally stills...poet
Goodbye is probably the saddest word,
no one is ever able to escape.
It's as if, when Hello is once uttered,
the forming of goodbye is taking shape.
Goodbye to "forever friends" we once knew
time steals every moment we cannot grasp.
so many people seemed to just slip through,
how fleeting the moments we did not clasp.
Goodbye to children when time comes to leave
sunlit days forever etched in our heart.
Goodbye to pets we've loved, only to grieve,
They kiss our tears as we silently part.
So many goodbyes, some we couldn't say.
Emptiness remained as we mourned the end.
Perhaps we will find them again one day
and we'll remind them we once were good friends.
