"Every struggle in my life has been a lesson and made me stronger." Quote by _Constance La France
He says I don't remember what he says, nor do I listen to him Well, of his sharing our past I am filled to the brim All those words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs flow Daily he talks and talks doesn't even a little slow I lived the same life as him, genuinely some things I desire to forget Because undoubtedly for neither of us are they an asset

I think that the connection we experience when shared memories are repeated (perhaps often) is to give us a touchstone of past joy. In contrast to the concerns of the present. Thank you for your poem, Sara, as it inspired me to reflect on my own situation. Regards Suzette

Yes, I agree, Suzette, that it is good to remember good times together and sometimes sad times remembered help us to heal, and hard times remember helps us to be more appreciative of the good times. Sometimes it is not good to harp on one person's past that they feel are their glory days or months or years and theirs alone. Thanks for dropping by, reading and taking time to comment. Sara

I have always been thankful for Native American culture where people do not talk unless they have something to say. I could never, ever live with anyone who talks incessantly, especially about the over and done! Naught to worry as long walks are good for your health! Aloha!

You could write a "Growing Old is not for Sissies" poem, as most people have no idea just how painful taking a breath can be! Aloha!

Rico, I am at a point in my life where pain is a constant companion and walking only makes it worse. I do try to be up and walk some, but it is not easy. I hope you never have to live with anyone who talks incessantly especially about nothing. LOL..Thanks for sharing about the native American culture. I appreciate the visit and the kind review. Sara

Valsa, Yes, for some elderly, they live in the past. Getting older is not for sissies for sure. Thanks for dropping by and for taking time to comment. Sara

"Let sleeping dogs lie." If not for the future, at least to live in the moment has better chance for success.

Joe, Yes, we do need to live in the moment as much as possible, learn from the past and go on, and always plan for the future, but not put all our trust in it. Thanks for the nice review of my work. I appreciate the visit. Sara
