Flames That Weep

Listen to poem:
Remembrance of guilt from pages turned brown Read like old letters of scattered debris Torn from love's book and allowed to fall down To build a funeral pyre for all to see Yesterday's desire I've folded in time Then cast into flames where memories cry Smoke colored names in the air will climb And I saw them rise to an endless sky They cling to a hearth now stained by fool's gold Filled with dung rich charcoal from flames that weep A moment's pause for memories burned cold A cause to free the heart so it can sleep Thrown to flames blazing of my yesterday I watched all the names burn slowly away 2/28/17

So very well written, Frederic. Your words leave no doubt as to the depth of those emotions. If only a fire could burn away our memories, oh, but what weeping.
