Blue Mountain Lake - Rubaiyat

Standing high in the mountains, looking down Seeing the lake dressed in a yellow gown Reflecting rocky mountain peaks behind The valley a collage of green and brown Imagine the delight for men of years gone by Finding this place untouched by human eye So much beauty their hard earned reward Prayers of thanksgiving lifted on high I wonder if Lewis and Clark stood there A journey of discovery for them to share Finding a northwest passage their goal Accompanied by Sacajawea, maiden fair The passage they never were able to find But wrote of plants and animals of every kind In thinking of the wonders they had seen Perhaps one blue mountain lake came to mind

A magnificent interpretation of the photo, dear LNC. I'm sure some explorers found this majestic site. Sacajawea was ahead of her time as a leader of men. Congratulations on your first-place win. Love and blessings, Carolyn
