Autumn Poetry Contest Sponsored by Regina McIntosh 10/12/23

Such beauty is seen during fall, leaves turn ochre, orange and red. My favoured season of them all, do trees grieve as each leaf is shed? A falling leaf twirls to the ground, such beauty is seen during fall. Leaves drifting down without a sound, from branches of trees tall and small Ground’s covered by a leafy shawl, that rustles as I have a walk. Such beauty is seen during fall, oh how I dream that leaves could talk! I wonder what those leaves would say as they crash land on a stone wall. I love to walk each autumn day, such beauty is seen during fall

Oh Jan, this is so pretty with such lovely imagery. I also love to write about fall. It is my favorite season. I wonder if it is yours as well? It gives us so much material to write about in so many different kinds of poems doesn't it? This is especially pretty that beautifully describes the season.

A lovely tribute to fall when smells seem cleaner and sounds are crisper. Those fallen leaves can make even the dirtiest streets pretty.

Leaves may fall to get rid of the parasites on them, New leaves will be healthier. A lovely poem though. Blessings.

your poem captivated me...I love autumn and often wonder if the trees grieve when the leaves fall. I loved so many phrases like 'leafy shawl.' I do sometimes wish the leaves could talk--what stories they could tell of what they've seen. Am faving this one. Have a blessed day, Sara

To talk with leaves would be so interesting. Would they be sad to have only lived for two seasons or gladly give their lives to make way for a new generation? You’ve covered Fall nicely, Jan.

Trees are some of the oldest lifeforms on earth...interesting to think about whether they grieve or not...something to ponder on...
