~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ blank page barren canvas hear me now tell me of your journey. on this night like a spark that ignites the flame give me that first word that begins that first phrase then takes root and cultivates into that first rhyme that forms my little sonnet like a maze embracing this moment breathing life onto this canvas with your words of prose sprinkle pollinate fill it abundantly like the expected mother to be as the day draws near the struggle labor banes so great so intense the agony the pain giving birth to this parchment of handwritten life when will it ever end? then it becomes quiet where silence has ceased all has stopped I look to gaze upon this once empty page I now see how the motivated can be inspired the hurting can be healed the hopeless can have hope and the faithless can have faith all within themselves once again may the story of this page serve as a living testament that emptiness and nothingness are never permanent
Lovely and creative poetry, Sara. There are many directions our thoughts may travel went they start with a blank canvas; I like the journey your thoughts / poetry has taken us on with this poem. Mindful, inspiring, and an enjoyable read, my sweet friend. Big hugs, Bill
What a brilliant and deep write this is dear sweet sara! I think many can resonate too with these lines. I love the way youv interpreted the prompt and delivered such a meaningful poem. Especially the lines “ the hurting can be healed the hopeless can have hope and the faithless can have faith all within themselves once again” exactly! I sometimes go through these emotions and think too, looking at what once was a blank canvas now flowing with emotions, healing hymns too! Powerful this is! FAV
I appreciate your kind words about my poem. I'm glad you've had similar experiences when writing a poem and looking back at what was once a blank canvas...it's exhilarating! You 'got' the message of my words. Humbly grateful for the fav. Have a pleasant evening, hugs Sara
Birthing of a poem is not all that easy. There is labor pain though at the end, like the mother of a new born, we feel joy when a poem is born. Even if not at the first chance, remember- "emptiness and nothingness are never permanent".... Beautiful message that inspires dear Sara !
I understand how walking brings inspiration. I do the exact same thing every morning (except in rainy weather or extreme cold); something about the cadence of walking puts me in an active meditative state where inspiration comes. Thanks for your support and thoughtful words this morning, Sara
