Contest Description
"Tinker, Taylor,
Soldier, Sailor,
Rich Man, Poor Man,
Beggar Man, Thief."
is the modern version of a children's counting game played in England.
Choose one of these and write a poem FOR ADULTS. (I am not looking for a children's poem.) The title of the poem can be "A Tinker", "A Taylor", "A Soldier", "A Sailor", "A Rich Man", "A Poor Man", "A Beggar Man", or "A Thief", depending on what you write. Of course, you can call it "The Tinker" and so on for the choices if more appropriate for your poem. The titles are simple enough, but I shall be looking for well thought out work, neatly formatted.
Do not choose a real person or literary character to write about - he must be out of your imagination.
Any form is acceptable.
Your poem should be in English. Poems in other languages are not eligible unless you wrote both the original poem and the translation.
