Contest Description

Firstly I wish to report back from my last contest. Only 10 poems could be chosen as winners, but every entry was beautiful. I do not judge according to a 'pseudo-objective' points scheme or so and my choices are subjective. Please, do be discouraged by not placing...

What to Submit for this contest 'South Africa'

1 original, poem on the theme of South Africa

Any form is acceptable. I like meaningful poems (how debatable is meaning?) and poems to flow with meter, but am honestly open to anything else. Rhyme or not, complex and simple both has its merits. I like humour, but serious and serene is good, satirical and sarcastic, you can add anything into the mix...

South Africa: you may have been or not, follow it on the news or not. It is a land of beauty and controversy, with a rich and pretty dark history. Distribution of fairness and equality are lacking and still there is vision. And wonderful people live here...

Write about anything you like from wine to Table Mountain, Game Reserves, corruption, street children, a wonderful holiday, a dream to visit etc. etc.

I am looking forward to 'your' South Africa and am curious what you make of this country, I call my home for now.
