Contest Description

Gems for Your Baggage

Here's a chance to win some jewelry!  Tell us about a real or fictional relationship that was affected by a quality or habit you or your mate had.  Perhaps it was too hard to accept, or maybe you learned to live with it.  Winners in first, second and third place will receive jewelry.  If there are ties, there may be more than three winners.

Andrea Dietrich and Broken Wings have agreed to help me judge this contest, using a point system that is fair to all. Using this point system, there may be some ties.

Your assignment is to write a poem about your baggage or a mate’s baggage, eiher real or fictional.  You may use one or more pieces of baggage.

You may use any rhyme or free verse form, but not haiku, senryu or short poems that restrict your freedom.  The limit is 15 lines.

The poem may be humorous or serious.  Just make it creative and interesting!

Please put “Baggage” somewhere in the title so none of the judges will read it by accident.  Be sure to proofread your entry for grammar and spelling.

This fun contest is open to men and women. A variety of jewelry styles and gemstones will be awarded.  If you have a favorite gem color, you can note that at the end of the poem.

Good luck and have fun!
