OLD/NEW FREE VERSE POEM IN 200 WORDS OR LESS

you can check the word count at howmanysyllables.com (at the bottom

after you press enter it will give word count)

my style of poetry has sort of changed these last few months. I'm looking for more metaphorical usage of words- deep and use analogies. Read my poem below as an example, but you do not have to write about my poem or the picture included.

  Ebony love,

             -bleeding crimson hopes.

Beauty in death reveals a forever

permanent scar, from afar I see

blackness and the night seems too long-

Emerald dreams used to hold me together.

They made me sturdy, took me away to a

place I only wished would bring love-

but time passes too quickly and the hourglass broken-

for the crimson stain has spoken and the life

I once knew was over.

Emotions…

screaming loud- too loud to hear,

yet too soft to be quiet.

I shout in raging silence and my thorns prick my soul,

just as a needle would bleed my fingertip.

Innocence lost and I paid the cost- forevermore is forever

gone and I am left abandoned-

                                          ....crimson stained and alone.

Feel me in the breeze as I fall to my remorseful knees-

pick me in a field of roses and I will finally be free.

Ebony love- has risen above.

             Only a crimson stain,

                           - will forever remain.
