Roller Coaster

Blog Posted by Alana Tye: 1/24/2008 7:49:00 AM
Every day I ride this never-ending roller coaster. Unpredictable, even to myself, life is one big challenge. The ups and downs take me from high to low in a matter of minutes/hours. The twists and loops send my mind into a whirlwind leaving my body numb. Dark tunnels seem cold and lonely, but I make it through them in no time at all. Just when things start to slow down and I think the ride is over, I speed past the exit and it starts all over again. As each time I pass, the scenery changes and a whole new set of events take place, leaving me choices I least expect.
On occasion, the brakes come to a screeching halt, but only for a second. It's then I find myself no longer moving forward, but riding in reverse and gripping my harness tighter than ever as I close my eyes. My biggest fear being, not the places I've never gone, but the places I've already been.

Your writing in this blog provides an answer Lana...a poet or writer's best work often comes from their empirical observations. This blog is a very moving and real... albeit heart rending ...vignette.Keep taking up your pen when you feel this way.Rgds Brian

I know what you mean dear heart but have no fear of the unknown. Just take life as it comes. One day at a time. Love and blessings, Meg.

Your description fits it well. I once told a young lady that she was like a formula one race car in a used car parking lot. You can go from zero to lightening faster than the others can start their engines. She laughed and said yes, that's me. Great kid with a tough battle but step by step she was winning. God Bless.
