Carol Eastman

I sit at my window with my cats and dogs, where I feed my birds daily... Each day my Hubby Mike gives me tid bits from his imagination... before he heads off to work... I try to write for the fun and enjoyment of all... My poems never fit exactly into any contests... Fun story poems have a place here along with children's poetry. I'll be trying to promote them in the future by contests and my poetry.

Dear Soupers,

Is anyone having problems with their site being corrupted? I can't enter poems in contests that start after the letter O. Maybe 1/2 my poems. I can change the name to before the letter O and then enter. Otherwise they aren't showing to pick from. Also my member contest enteries--- on the last 2 pages--- the names remain... but nothing else... My poems didn't show up on the 'Best New Poems' when they were worthy to be there. Please understand none of them are worthy at the moment...And rarely are... But a few were for a slight while.... These are glitches in my PS account. Are any others having the same problems? They are simply glitches... and NOT HACKERS... The only one truly causing sadness is the one in which I can't enter contests... But I will change poem names to start before the letter O when needed and will enter thusely. My list of poems written is OK and up to date... Thank goodness! Am I alone in these problems? I contacted PS last week... and hope the contest entering is fixed. I don't know if the other parts can be fixed... perhaps not... But am still a fan of PoetrySoup and the Soupers. I have had problems too. Sometimes I cant even get on. I am not notified when someone makes a comment or when someone soup mails me. I have to keep checking and miss some. I tried fixing it myself to no avail. I realize this is a large site and there are bound to be glitches. If anyone knows how I can fix my problem please let me know. PS is a wonderful site to read poetry and to share our own, so cheers for that. Hugs, Connie

count me in, carol.. from missing a few poems here, submitting entries not received by sponsors, getting all kinds of errors like error 500, being redirected to other links, repeating posts of new works(the site stops working after i click on the "update" button , to finding out my replies on blogs jump to other comment boxes... so, we are on the same boat!... ewhh!.. huggs

CArol, here is a clue for you. I have done this when using a computer at my school that for some reason won't allow me to enter contests properly. I put A in front of the title. This moves the poem to the front of the list. So if you had a poem called California, title it A California. Then you can submit to the contest, and then go back in and edit out the A!! See if it works!

I can imagine how frustrated you must be, Carol ! I have had an on going problem that is different than yours, but just as frustrating. Some (not all) of my poems won't allow me to edit. I will go back to fix a misspelled work, or add a line, or make a change, and when I re-submit the revision....up comes an error page. It has disqualified some of my entries in contests after I had realized I forgot to date my poem, or add a required element. Why this only happens to certain poems and not others doesn't make sense to me! There are definitely "glitches" and gremlins at work !! Sorry for yours !!!
