I sit at my window with my cats and dogs, where I feed my birds daily... Each day my Hubby Mike gives me tid bits from his imagination... before he heads off to work... I try to write for the fun and enjoyment of all... My poems never fit exactly into any contests... Fun story poems have a place here along with children's poetry. I'll be trying to promote them in the future by contests and my poetry.

Dragon goes to the University of Southeastern Philippines

Great news! Not only is Dragon very popular in St. Louis where I live... But my Dragon poems are now being used by a Literature teacher at the University of Southeastern Philippines. And a teaching student will be using my poems to teach too. I am very excited! It's a dream come true. My health has not been good lately and this is something to make it all worth while. I hope to write more Dragon stories but have been distracted lately because of my health. I've been rather tired. My poems were discarded as not serious works by many at PoetrySoup in the past. This just goes to show that there are many excellent types of poetry. Even the humorous kind.

I want to thank all my friends who have read my poems and enjoyed them. This is sooo exciting!

I am very pleased to hear of your great recognition as a fine poet. Always write from the heart, and time will tell .. Once must remember a great many famous poets only got recognition after their passing on. You are blessed to have yours to enjoy now my friend. I hope Dragon keeps making people smile. I was in touch with a student from the Philippines just yesterday. She was hoping for a signed book. Signed by me. Wow. I do believe Dragon will be jealous... I'll have to let him sign it or they'll be no living with him. LOL... I'd love a book. But maybe later. That way Dragon could live on in some one's home library and dreams... and reach more people. Now that my son has graduated from college... It might someday be possible. Depending on my medical bills. I just paid off my last surgery this month. This recognition has been fun. Perhaps I am making it more than it is. I don't know... But it's fun. Thank you my friend. At the moment I am on Cloud nine... and dreading my next Dr. visit.

Congrats Carol. You can tell a lot about a person by observing how they interact with animals, especially those animals that are dependent. I am glad to see that you stayed true to yourself despite 'the many at PS' in the past. My prayers concerning your health. God Bless you & your family.

There have always been great people at PoetrySoup. I lost two of my close pet friends this year due to old age. But my Emily (11 year old puppy dog) is still with me. Hubby is trying to help me with my writting... as always. The world has always been kind to me... Along with my friends here. Thank you.

Oh Carol this is wonderful news about your dragon poem and one in the eye for the naysers! My simple style has been criticised in the past but I really don't give a toss any more what people think - stay true to who you are and this is proof there is room for all styles of poetry even humourous ones:-):-) I hope this success boosts your spirits and that your health improves:-) hugs jan xx
