hi Cyndi, I see you have the ear of Craig, he did say i could enter but I have not seen the box and thought it was a no go, I posted my HCS on soup, if he is not too busy and you either would you ask him to consider it an entry, it is the full 15 stanzas and is posted in three parts. If not to be considered an entry I would appreciate him taking a peek , bless you Cyndi xx

From Craig, 20 mins ago, this is a direct quote from Craig, " I will have the Crown of sonnets results by weeks end, it's very extensive---would you please comment on Laura's blog that (or otherwise) that I will also be awarding a Premium Membership to the winner. " Cyndi says, "I'm heading off Soup, now. I need to write. Cheers to everyone."

Thank you, Cyndi, for the update. I'm very encouraged to read this and am glad Craig did not abandon the contest. I appreciate hm following through on this.

Craig contacted me this weekend via email and I will be posting a blog which he will write for those who wrote the crowns. He has not forgotten those who put in the work and he understands the dedication involved in completing such a labour-intensive poem. I, personally, don't understand the ins-and-outs of what is involved when a member closes their account and what happens to their contests (they should, in theory, automatically just disappear like they'd never been on the contest page at all. It is strange to me to see a contest just hanging there with no contest sponsor. Perhaps, this should be changed?) I wrote a crown and found the experience in itself to be rewarding...

We're all human, Laura. I wanted you to know I get how one could get miffed. Most of the contests I enter are now professional ones and --given their cost -- I rarely enter them. The good thing, however, about entering journal contests is that the entry fee usually includes a subscription to the journal! A year receiving a great poetry magazine in the mail makes it worth while to me...

...Add on this a close family member struggling with their health and a personal health issue, as well (can't say more!) and then, it's easier to walk in the other person's shoes.

I do understand! It may help to think about how we all reach our limits, make plans but then we have an epiphany or realize we desperately need a new start, better goals and an environment that is more in line with our aspirations

Yes, I also found it rewarding, Cyndi. I wanted to take the high road in my thinking about this, but keep thinking about the way it all went down...

Hi, Laura. The way I understood it was that when the contest for Part One Heroic Crown of Sonnets (Sonnets 1 through 7) was filled, Craig was going to close the contest and we would all see an NA on our Member Contest List. Then, he was supposed to open the next contest for Part Two. So Part One looks like it was judged, but not really, on May 24. Now...whether the contest for Part Two ever comes to be...that is the question. Sandra

Yes, I understood that be true, as well. But the mystery of the deleted account makes me wonder if part 2 will ever be judged... It is strange.

Laura, as Craig has deleted his account and left poetry soup, it is doubtful to me that these contests will ever be judged ~

That's what I figured, but it still is confusing that one of his contests is still active, and there was no explanation about any of it...!
