LIFE IS SHORT

It's not
as if you have
a choice in the matter,
but if you leave a poem
it's enough.

I belong to the Facebook group "CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS. " It posts calls from various literary sources. This call from SweetSmell Journal sounds promising for writers of poetry, prose, and short stories. (PeaceGirl Works also has a Facebook page) Following is the information as it was posted in the group:

CALL FOR SUBMISSION!

SweetSmell Journal Issue TWO (2).

PeaceGirl will be publishing an ebook of selected poetry, prose and short stories on travels/journey by road (land).

Theme: Road Travels.

In this issue, I want to read about a long trip, a van filled with people heading somewhere, or maybe nowhere. Tell me why a juice box is sitting still on a bench in a gas station in the middle of nowhere. Talk about a conversation during a trip, a tour by road, the view of deserted lands from a mountain top. Road robbery.
Tell me about an ordinary road travel or an extraordinary one. I want to read your work and drive down to places I've never been.
It doesn't matter if you're a new or an experienced writer, feel free to submit.

To be featured in the journal, read the guidelines below.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
# Poetry:
Submit up to 3 poems in line with the theme.
The poem should NOT be more than 25 lines.

# Prose:
Submit just 1 prose in line with the theme. Your prose or essay should not be more than 1000 words.

# Short Stories:
Submit only 1 story in line with the theme.
The story should NOT be more than 1000 words. It could be less but not more than a thousand words.

Or, one short story and 3 poems at a time.
Do NOT submit prose and story together.

E.g,

And bees hover over meadows....

# Erotica, pornographic writing, profanity, sexual violence, ethnic discrimination and plagarism are NOT allowed. Submit CLEAN works ONLY. Works that can be read by everyone. Do not copy and modify another persons work, it is punishable by law. Submit your own original work.

Also paste your author bio below your name.

Please send well edited and finished works. Excess typo errors, corrections and grammatical errors can lead to your work being rejected.

# Submission DEADLINE is June 9th.
Submission may be closed before then if I receive enough works for the issue.

I will acknowledge recieved submission with the word "Recieved," to show I have seen your mail.
Response on whether your submission will be published will be given 2 weeks to 1 month after the submission deadline depending on how much work I have to review, so please be patient with me.
