LIFE IS SHORT

It's not
as if you have
a choice in the matter,
but if you leave a poem
it's enough.

Apology ...

I apologize for misspelling Florin Lacatus's name in my previous blog post. I have made the correction.

I'm my blog " About That Toolbox" I do not mean to imply that the toolbox takes away from the fervor with which a poem is written, merely that the tools when understood can be used effectively to enhance the expression of that fervor.

I note that F. L. uses certain forms in his poetry such as "haiku" and "Chant Royal." Are those not tools from the toolbox?

Quite frankly, F.L. knows nothing about the processes I use to pen poetry. He has no idea about the trials in my life that have shaped the emotions that I put into every word I write.

Yes, some of the poems I have written are experiments in form, some written as just plain fun, but most written from the thoughts, feelings, and experiences that have shaped me.

Agreeing to disagree,
~Chetta

Don't worry Chetta, talk about irony - he mis spelled YOUR name as 'Cheeta' on a comment on one of his blogs and when I pointed it out he deleted his comment so mine vanished too.

Only because for some reason Poetry Soup was not allowing me to post my comment on the blog. Probably just a bad connection to the internet or perhaps a glitch in the matrix.

Thank you for spelling my name right. That’s a start, names are like poems; if you miss one letter, you miss the man. You speak of tools enhancing fervor. I speak of fervor breaking tools. Yes, I use forms: haiku, Chant Royal, but not as a carpenter uses a hammer. I use them the way a drunk uses a lamp post: not for support, but to stay upright while shouting at the moon. I never claimed to know your life. But you’ve read my work, yet missed its wound. That’s the only point I ever tried to make. We may disagree. But poetry isn’t a thing you build. It’s a thing that survives you. With hope, Florin
