Waiting In the Rain

I remember how you looked that day
The morning, you went away
I remember everything you said
I could not speak just softly breath away

Upon the shore, about to leave
There were just too many voices in my head
It was the first day of a morning spring
A cold chill the moment on that day

I stood and watched you with a smile
I never saw you without a thing to say
As we stand today close for a while
Your warm body comforts me so today

I know in a cool springtime rain
I think of you, once more again
I’ll never know why, I could not say
Just how hard it was for me that day

The words are now frozen on my lips
As I stood on the dock alone that day
And I watched as you slowly drifted away
Watching from a veil’s hidden rips

The chill of the cold won’t lose its grip
And hangs from my neck like a chain
To think of you just once more again
And how warm you felt in the cold dark rain

I don’t think I will ever know
And how fast the time did go
I will always feel deep in my heart
We were just never meant to part

Soul mates never go, so here I am again
As I await in the cold spring morning rain
Knowing you will be back with me again
As I leave my cold body in the rain

Through the Mirror

So now I know
Life has played its part
I never would believe
that I could die
from a broken heart

No you can’t mend me
it’s been far too long
everyone will go
everyone has gone
everyone will leave
that God did lend me

I could only watch
then step aside
as it all just went
no matter what I tried
the only thing I can say
was how hard I cried

It was a shiver in the mirror
A reflection of pain
Where the shadows of doubts
were cast and bent
Any old soul
or any message sent
Were at the end of the road
and who is left out

So now I know
Life has played it’s part
now I do believe
that I will die
from a broken heart

Darkness

Darkness
Creeping shadow
Covers the light
Leaving me adrift within
shadowed

My Arrow

Don't you fall, don't make me sad anymore
Whenever you call, it makes me feel so helpless
I know what is hurting, deep down inside you
With no place to hide and crying's not selfish
But I will be here whenever you reach out
I’m always here for you, you are never without

I see those eyes, I do not like them
When they are weeping, but when you fly
I see you smiling when you lie there just sleeping
I understand what everyone is thinking
But I see two eyes so playful and beautifully sinking
And how I adore you, so stop what you are thinking

Love comes from I, in the wind it blows
It swirls all round you; I know how it's life
And just how it goes, I am just so happy I found you
And I miss you, when you are not here
And I know that you love me, and I know all your fears
So don't ever fall, don't make me sad anymore
Whenever you call

I know all your feelings; I know when you've been weeping
You told me them all; I tell you I love you
You are so happy flying and smile when you are sleeping
I think of you as you are sleeping I know where you go
Right into my heart just like an arrow

So don't ever fall, don't make me sad anymore
Whenever you call, I will pick you up once more
And let you fly and fly into your sweet dreams
As you sing into them all, I will hear a song
As sweet as a new bird, who sings to the skies
Whenever she flies

My Last Words

my true love, why did you leave me this way
My heart will only fill now with sorrow
and no! I will not, look to where you have gone
I will not prepare for tomorrow

It has come to me, what last words I would say
as I lie here awake, as the night froze
the warmth taken from my heart this day
not to return as the new morn sun arose

I am sorry my love, that I feel this way
but now all alone, my mind it just roams
carry my thoughts to a place I may be
where I hope to feel loved and I am home

there is not one word, I could ever be told
take away a love, I will forever hold
the silence of your leaving was too soon to be
my last words, please forgive me

My Granddad

I knew a man who was afraid, when he looked at you, with his pain,
hoped that he might scare you away,
he was afraid you would take him back to a place,
that for twenty five years of his life, he had to stay
he never hurt anyone but they were afraid he would someday
they had no doctors to talk too. or medicine to keep nightmares away
that’s what they did to anyone else in those days

He had a grand home a family and a big heart
and believed that this time in his life, was a good start
he lost everything he owned when the stock market crashed
when they had both came apart, the pendulum lost it's sway
A bully on the bus saw you in dismay and ripped you apart
and with a knife he drew and aimed for your heart,
but the crowd on the bus, all knew him, and it was his say,
and for twenty five years of your life,
you were taken away

Those people in the crowd, should have been honest and nice
they had an innocent frightened, saddened man, punished twice
who for twenty five years, the only way to wake him
was a bath tub full of cold water, and ice

he had amazing skills with his hands as he drew
but he saw a little too much of everything else, too
he did not like me when we first met, his room was a sanctuary
he built by hand and his sweat, so he would forget
the twenty five years of his life taken, and he has never hurt anyone yet

he had a little sports car he loved, but grandmother hated it
when they went out for a drive it always, got towed home
his mechanic was a cheat, and the price for repairs was very steep
I helped fix his car, we had saved it. it was his now forever to keep it
we became best of friends, and we both shared together our secrets

A man who I was once so afraid of, became a person in my life,
that I still love, and he’s been gone, for many a night so for now
he is someone I am always thinking of and remembering him, right now,
I cry, but I am not sad I will see him again, and in the end,
the first person I would love to see, if possible to be, in heaven,
is my granddad,

My Mothers Eyes

It always seems it may not always have been to clear
Telling mother you’re not sure about who you are
What you thought she was always expecting to hear
Went right into her heart like a knife to reopen a scar

And to finally come to see, no one could erase all the lies
No matter how I try I feel like a star in the sky after it dies
Reminding me life is just a quick sparkle alone in the skies
One thing is true, and that I wish is, that I never knew
The truth will always remind me of, my Mothers eyes

But the truth is here and my heart cries as I look out to the skies
And just admitted the truth and dropped this phony disguise
Now I will always be alone in the cold lonely darkness of the skies
Lost in the black holes of the heavens, hidden behind my Mothers eyes

And I can’t get away from the things that I still feel and hear
The whisper of a sigh and a cry, and the drop of a tear
Don't know why I hadn't thought, or known, but now I realize
In the overtones of their cries , tears, and all of their sighs
I will always remember, I saw it all, with my own Mothers eyes

In a Bottle

to dream drift away
in a bottle to journey
where I want to play

so empty to be
In a bottle then I see
you in there with me
