I remember how you looked that day
The morning, you went away
I remember everything you said
I could not speak just softly breath away

Upon the shore, about to leave
There were just too many voices in my head
It was the first day of a morning spring
A cold chill the moment on that day

I stood and watched you with a smile
I never saw you without a thing to say
As we stand today close for a while
Your warm body comforts me so today

I know in a cool springtime rain
I think of you, once more again
I’ll never know why, I could not say
Just how hard it was for me that day

The words are now frozen on my lips
As I stood on the dock alone that day
And I watched as you slowly drifted away
Watching from a veil’s hidden rips

The chill of the cold won’t lose its grip
And hangs from my neck like a chain
To think of you just once more again
And how warm you felt in the cold dark rain

I don’t think I will ever know
And how fast the time did go
I will always feel deep in my heart
We were just never meant to part

Soul mates never go, so here I am again
As I await in the cold spring morning rain
Knowing you will be back with me again
As I leave my cold body in the rain

Exciting and excellent. Your lines fascinate me "The chill of the cold won’t lose its grip And hangs from my neck like a chain To think of you just once more again And how warm you felt in the cold dark rain"..... This is just awesome

I believe that poets are born not made. Believing this, I read to interpret you not just the poetry. With this said...I feel as if I know you now that I have read your poetry. You put "you" into your work. Good job!!

Profound the poem has been indeed The pain amidst the spring and rain Once we loved and loved again It's time now to look back and bleed

Whether through bereavement, life circumstances or forced separation the parting of soul mates is a sadness felt in every bone, muscle and sinew of your being. You have to have felt it to know it, it cannot be imagined in the intensity that it actually occurs. The sense of departure for all of these circumstances is conveyed in your verse. Kind regards, Ian

Beautiful. To part is somehow necessary because all partings are only beautiful in the hope of meetings again. To meet and to part is truly a harmonious couple.

Well written with a sense of loss. My wife and I recently celebrated 43 years of marriage. Memories will last forever with 'special ones' of 'waiting in the rain'. Thank you for sharing. Curtis.

An outpouring of emotions that surges up from the heart and splashes against the page. Your words took stage and treated the reader to a glimpse of your heart and peak at your soul. Emile #7
