Self Existent Light

Why depend on external things, when it's all within?
Your power, your radiance, and hope therein.
Navigate the highs and lows, without fear,
You're worthy, more than enough, let that be clear.

Rise up, open your eyes, and soar high,
You're the guiding star, lighting up the sky.
This special gift won't lose its shine,
Guiding you towards heights, so divine.

It brightens your soul, illuminates your mind,
Your inner light, a beacon for all humankind.

Letting Go

If it comes, take it with open arms
Let it fill you with joy and calm
Embrace the moment, seize the day
For who knows how long it will stay?

But if it goes, let it drift away
Don't hold on, don't beg it to stay
For sometimes things are meant to end
To teach us lessons and help us mend

It may hurt to let go of what we love
But we must trust in fate above
For what's meant for us will come back around
And in the meantime, let's not be bound

By the past or what we can't control
Let's focus on what's within our goal
To live in the present, be grateful and free
And trust that the future holds what's meant to be.

The Cacophony Within

I ponder why my soul is thus,
Why must I scream to be heard,
Why do I feel remorseful after speaking,
Why does home not feel like home despite their words?

My parents declare their love for me,
Yet I still believe I'm the issue,
Why do my siblings think only I'm causing them discomfort,
Why do I still feel embarrassed after expressing myself?

It's not because my expression is peculiar,
It's not because my words are rough,
It's because I feel like no one will comprehend me,
So I shout to make myself heard.

I wish I could sew my lips shut,
So that no words would escape,
I wish I could handle it better,
Without being overwhelmed by the situation.

I wish I could flee far away,
And live in peace without any disturbance.

The Fractured Dreams of Nature

The breeze that blows across the green,
The rustling leaves, the babbling stream,
Nature's gifts, a wondrous scene.

But now the world has turned unclean,
The air, the earth, the water, it seems,
The breeze that blows across the green.

The plastic waste and toxins we glean,
Our heedless actions, a reckless scheme,
Nature's gifts, a wondrous scene.

We must not take her gifts as routine,
For she is fragile, and we are extreme,
The breeze that blows across the green.

Let us wake up, and act on this dream,
For if we don't, it will be extreme,
Nature's gifts, a wondrous scene.

Let us cherish her, as she's always been,
And vow to keep her safe and serene,
The breeze that blows across the green,
Nature's gifts, a wondrous scene.

Broken Winged Butterfly

A butterfly with wings once whole,
Now broken, shattered, with no control.
The invisible cage surrounds her tight,
No freedom to spread her wings and take flight.

Society and family, the ones to blame,
For clipping wings and causing pain.
Gender norms and biases hold her down,
No chance to fly or even leave the ground.

She dreams of soaring high and free,
A life of choices, just like you and me.
But the broken wings just won't allow,
The freedom to escape, to take a bow.

Yet hope remains, a tiny light,
A chance to mend those wings and take flight.
With strength and will, she'll break those chains,
And rise above the hurt and pains.

For a butterfly with wings once broken,
Can still take flight, her spirit unspoken.
And soar above the hurt and pain,
To live and love, and once again.

Ramadan: a Reminder To Purify Our Souls

In the blessed month of Ramadan,
We fast and pray to purify our soul,
But sometimes we forget the purpose,
And indulge in sins we shouldn't at all.

We think it's Satan tempting us,
But in truth, it's our own desire,
We're so used to these sinful acts,
That we forget they're a spiritual fire.

We starve ourselves all day long,
But we don't truly fast in our heart,
We continue to do what we're told not to,
And from our faith, we drift apart.

What's the point of all this struggle,
If we don't repent and turn back to Him?
We need to remind ourselves of our purpose,
And let our hearts be filled with faith again.

Let's use this holy month to reflect,
On the sins that we commit in our life,
And strive to become better Muslims,
To please Allah and avoid all strife.

Letter To My Healing Self

Dear healing self, this is a letter to you,

FORGIVENESS:
With words of forgiveness and love so true,
For letting others hurt you, I'm sorry for the pain,
For not giving you the love you deserve, I take the blame.
I forgive others for the mistakes that they've made,
And I apologize for the mess that I have laid,
Let's move forward with acceptance in our heart,
Knowing that everything happens and we'll never fall apart.

ACCEPTANCE:
Let's live in the reality and not our emotions,
For not everyone can be our favorite notions,
But that's okay, we'll accept it and let it pass,
And focus on the present, where our true happiness will amass.

SELF-LOVE:
Most importantly, I'll never abandon you,
I'll be your best friend and your strength too,
I'll love you for who you are, and nothing more,
Together, we'll overcome anything that lies in store.

Rise Above

You may have scars that tell a tale
Of trauma faced, of battles won and failed
But it's not the pain that made you strong
It's the fight within that kept you going all along

Don't let the past define who you are
You are more than just a survivor, you're a shining star
Sometimes you don't get what you want
But trust that life has something better to flaunt

Take care of yourself, and your heart
Sometimes it's best to not care, to play your part
In healing, in loving, in finding your way
Don't be afraid to take a break, to rest and to play

Trauma didn't make you stronger, my dear
You did, with your courage, your resilience, your cheer
So hold your head up high, and let your light shine
For you are a warrior, a champion, a soul divine

Reserving a Slice of Serenity

I'm taking back what's mine, you see,
Saving some of me, just for me.
In this space, I feel so free,
Learning to love myself, finally.

I used to give until I bled,
Putting myself last, instead.
But now I know I must be fed,
Before I can give to others, ahead.

It's not selfish to love oneself,
To take time to rest, and for health.
For in doing so, we gain much wealth,
A life of balance, full of self.

So I'll continue on this journey,
Learning to love me, without hurry.
And in this place, I'll always be,
A person who loves, herself, carefree.

Nature's Calm

So soothing and calm, it can heal you,
The sun will warm you when you're lost.

Birds singing will help to silence the critic in your head,
The wind may blow away the dust from your chest.

Waterfalls and trees welcome you to free your mind,
The voices in your head are not you,
Dive into the lake and let them drown.

I have been there, so I know how it feels to be lost,
I hope you find solace in nature and release your fears and tears.

Stand up and speak to the trees,
The leaves will teach you that this too shall pass,
Not every season stays forever.

Every night will turn into a bright new day,
Every pain will become a beautiful lesson.
