Reserving a Slice of Serenity
I'm taking back what's mine, you see,
Saving some of me, just for me.
In this space, I feel so free,
Learning to love myself, finally.
I used to give until I bled,
Putting myself last, instead.
But now I know I must be fed,
Before I can give to others, ahead.
It's not selfish to love oneself,
To take time to rest, and for health.
For in doing so, we gain much wealth,
A life of balance, full of self.
So I'll continue on this journey,
Learning to love me, without hurry.
And in this place, I'll always be,
A person who loves, herself, carefree.
