Ramadan: a Reminder To Purify Our Souls

In the blessed month of Ramadan, We fast and pray to purify our soul, But sometimes we forget the purpose, And indulge in sins we shouldn't at all. We think it's Satan tempting us, But in truth, it's our own desire, We're so used to these sinful acts, That we forget they're a spiritual fire. We starve ourselves all day long, But we don't truly fast in our heart, We continue to do what we're told not to, And from our faith, we drift apart. What's the point of all this struggle, If we don't repent and turn back to Him? We need to remind ourselves of our purpose, And let our hearts be filled with faith again. Let's use this holy month to reflect, On the sins that we commit in our life, And strive to become better Muslims, To please Allah and avoid all strife.
