watching the leaves fall
sitting in the parking lot of an abandoned mall
memories are flooding my modern existence wall to wall
i am wishing that i could give a certain person a call
waterfront imagination in a poor man's dream
trying to find the greatest common denominator in this scheme
how i long for the feeling of the taste of cookies n cream
maybe then i will figure out the concept of how to redeem
loneliness lives with me everywhere i go
oblivious solo living is technique of which i am a pro
my air of mystery black charm always steals the show
what the flip side of it all feels like i will never know
it's summertime something in a winterized shade
for the inner unpredictableness i was perfectly made
for some reason the creation of me halted at middle grade
however knowing you once existed dissipates every barricade

An Indian summer
decamps, marches South
like a defeated army.
Coats are pulled out of closets,
cars winterized.
Wizards in long white robes
hunt the moans of castaway witches.
Autumn memories lure cats away,
but they soon return to the fireplace,
to stretch-out the longer hours.
Babies are coddled closer,
the sky goes blank,
amnesia deleting its colors.
There are omens born on chill winds,
sparrows go mute
in the frosty hedgerows.
November takes off its high-hat
revealing a bald dome,
when you go out alone,
you feel its gelid marrow
hitchhiking its way
through creaking bones.

Shy Brook dares to show a sliver of a slip of herself
Challenging Punxsutawney Phil’s six week prediction
Giving us a tiny hopeful smile in the winterized forest
Not allowing layers of heavy white snow to rule her
Her optimism delights me; I feel a glimmer of a wisp of hope.
I envision her locks full flowing in a few weeks.
Today the weather is predicted to be a high of forty-three.
That is sixty-seven degrees warmer than most of last week.
I smile, visualizing Shy Brook’s tiny bubbles, camouflaging minnows.

I waited... I surmised
I know I agonized
Of course... I never realized
Springtime was disguised
I pondered... I personalized
I know I criticized
Of course... I never recognized
Spring had improvised
I questioned... I vocalized
I know I dramatized
Of course... I verbalized
Spring had not arrived
I charted... I analyzed
I know I hypothesized
Of course... I never was more surprised
A third Nor'easter materialized
I remember... I fantasized
I know I rationalized
Of course... I never romanticized
That spring would be winterized

there once was a man who farm-a-sea
he was the king of all he give his seed
but there was no trust between us
because he was just a devil in
a winterized coat giving with a
power of degree to do harm
and no one will see...

I woke to a blustery, windy, chill,
Rushing through my windowsill,
The room was dark, I lit a candle to find my way,
I was far from home on a frozen covered bay,
As the light switch went on to my surprise,
The world as I knew it was polished and winterized,
From inside it seemed marvelous and surreal,
Until I opened the door and had a quick feel,
The trees shimmered and sparkled, the ground was like fine glass,
This moment of glory, was an image I could not pass,
Though outside was like the artic, its beauty was a wonderland,
The wind consumed with ice pellets hit the house like grains of sand,
The porch was filled with crystals a shiny mirror for my feet,
I put on my boots and allowed the ice and I too meet,
The smoke that floated from my lips was as if I had just put a fire out,
I only lasted a few moments before the warmth in me made my insides want to shout,
I spent the rest of the day by the wooden stove with hot chocolate on demand,
Taking in this piece of art work, an original, from the master’s hands.
