Premium MemberFebruary Shivers

Billows of a winter snow blowing through my curtain window
all I sweet remember is the way the willow tree smelled
that creamy, sugary, wintergreen scent of its lovely mellow
and the way the sun tilted each time you looked at me...
Snowflakes falling from a heavy laden sky of marble
and though my heart is longing, it is full of your song
that slow jazz music made us drunk as we danced
beneath the sultry moon, like a a fork and spoon
February shivers, my how the winter defuses
all that is left is the scent of a warmth remembered
healing hands, *** secret pillow talks
You grew old I grew old, then we both stopped living
My how I recall those winter snaps,
two young lovers lost in the silk of life's entwine
I remember when our love was fresh and new
like the weeping willow, dressed to the nines
Ah ! But those were different times and now is now,
I am presently lost, ... in this winter pow.

Premium MemberDream Girl

My baby has bi-lateral bonbons.
She modulates her rhythm side to side.
She’s a twenty-mule team moving violation,
Her motives pure as borax, her methods bona fide.
She stood naked in a shell at her creation,
Now she promenades down Broad Street like a queen.
She claims her corner armed with guided mistletoe
And decorates her hair in wintergreen.
She’s wearing pearls and sexy Christmas stockings.
She’s stunning as the lights on Boathouse Row.
'Twould be a thrill to occupy her manger,
And nestle ‘neath her starlight’s afterglow.
But her champagne's lost its fizz,
And all her virus leaves me is
Much alpha delta omicron about nothing.

Premium MemberFall Into Fall-

I fell, I fall;
I’ve fallen into fall;
Cool brisk warm autumn;
Windblown leaves to the ground-bottom;

A time when the leaves ;
On the tree leave;
Colorists’ red, yellow’s brown’s orange;

I alas do, fall into fall again;
I rise up and gather with my eyes;
Those beautiful arrangement spies…

As I envision the prize;
So colorful the skies;
Every leaf looses its green;
Except the pine, the wintergreen;

And I look a top the trees;
And I see the rainbow leaves;
I leave the rake in tow…
I don’t know I’d rather view than hoe…

I fell, I fall;
I’ve fallen into fall;
The autumn winds calls;
So I guess I’ll fall as I fell;
I fell as I fall into fall Oh! Man…

Premium MemberOur Song of Songs

My lover is to me a cluster of henna blossoms
     from the vineyard of En Gedi.

Song of Songs 1:14 NIV

he is vulnerable
   with me.
he is charming, handsome —

   his silver hair and bedroom eyes.
i press my nose
   into the featherbed of his chest —

     the mix of his scent with cologne
his arms encircle me
      embrace only me

the ripples of henna
       paint a vista
for my love and me —

       our song of songs
 blossoms
        we’ve left youth behind

embracing the divine.
     he knows me —
the cluster of our fingers

singularity, our intimate jokes
     and home sweet home.
after the sprig of coolness

      excites and weaves
into the dendrites and sinews
      of our life,

comes the wintergreen crest
of the ocean’s shiver,
      climatic and familiar

rock of our houseboat —
       survivor of tempests.
j’aime mon mari —

       love defies the language
and sound barrier, the dangerous
reefs. communication,

as our pressed together crowns
     on downy pillows,
speaks with its own lavender ink.

Premium MemberTossing Mints In a T-Rex Mouth

Tossing mints in a t-rex mouth,
his calamitous breath smells good,
as the terrible lizard rolls you South,
delighting in his wintergreen food.

Thankfully this monstrosity of a sweet-tooth Rex
rejects his diet of flesh and menthol as vomitus.
Relating voluminously to Jonah - you’re a wreck.
You slide off the belching tongue in slovenly gravitas.

You run as his roar, like a refreshing wind,
scores its daily fear and loathing.
This close encounter with your courage thinned,
avoiding an impression without a stitch of clothing.

Two of the Woods

Two of the Woods

We are of the woods
Miles upon miles, kicking up the trails dirt
A forbidden but impending bond being built

We are of the woods
In evenings dappled light, peaking through the leaves
We tasted loves first kiss, unable to bury the truest of desires

We are of the woods
The dew covered birth of day, your scent mixed with the wet mossy woods
Upon Gods green alter, we first relished in the temple of each other’s flesh.

We are of the woods
Beneath your favorite tree, amongst the wintergreen
You professed your love, leaving ajar a doorway I could not fathom opening

We are of the woods
On a blanket in a flower filled clearing, we lie intertwined
A chorus of songbirds plays our symphony as we dream of a simple, poor, happy life

We are of the woods
As daylight dies beneath a canopy of pine
Hands clutched tightly, through brown tear filled eyes
Unable to navigate the storm of prior circumstance
Our love must succumb to the needs of others
We sputter through sobs our final heartfelt goodbyes
Having tasted for the briefest of times agreed upon true love

We will always be of the woods

Near the Singing

Near the Singing

Christmas is coming
Christmas is near
Near the wintergreen tree
Near his fearful dreams
Dreams of hope
Dreams of peace
Peace and quiet
Peace to men
Men who rage
Men who try
Try to smile
Try to be
Be not noble
Be secure
Secure the latches
Secure the heart
Heart beats fast
Heart and Soul
Soul is reeling
Soul is healing
Healing the past
Healing Christmas
Christmas break
Christmas time
Time to wonder
Time to start over
Over coffee
Over-ly sweet
Sweet embrace
Sweet retreat
Retreat from the past
Retreat to the now
Now is here
Now is how
How we fix
How we own
Own the fear
Own the love
Love you small child
Love you small love
Love you heartache
Love you dear
Dear to me
Dear compassion
Compassion is the church bells ringing
Compassion is the children singing
Singing of a wintry Christmas
Singing carols bittersweet
Bittersweet . . .
Christmas . . .

It's Over

***~~***

   I close my eyes-
Remembering your touch
   Breathing in
Your rain dampened leather…
   Your after shave and wintergreen
All those warm, familiar smells of you

   Smiling…
In the middle of kissing
   Now…
Every night I cry myself to sleep
   Thinking…
Why is this happening to me…
   To us ?

Being apart doesn’t make me love you less
   It makes me love you even more

Stars quietly falling in the evening sky
   Reminding me…
It’s over- it's over

   IT'S   REALLY  OVER

                                                          ***~~***
