Dearest Janet,
I would love to come to your parents' Boxing Day Party.
I adore you. I want to marry you.
But if you are still angry I will understand.
Just give me a sign ~
I anxiously await your reply.
Forever yours,
Henry
In 2008, Janet Barrett, a guest-house owner in Weymouth, Dorset, UK, received a letter – an RSVP to a Boxing Day party invitation, which had been posted on 29 November 1919. It was 81 years late! (dramatized content)

This Angel of Hope and Faith
Will watch over you....
Your every move,
Your feelings,
Your Body and Heart,
Your Spirit and Soul,
Wherever You may be....
For You to have
The Strength and Courage
To endure the unnecessary hardships
During these times of need and guidance....
And to Triumph
In Self-esteem, Independence, and Success
In the Future that Lies Ahead.

Alexandra sails a SKUD 18 alongside Niki Birrell,
In a sailing 1-person keelboat, a successful pair,
They’ve won many a para World Champ. title,
Silver or gold from 2013 to 2015, with lots of dare.
With these Worlds they've been to Australia,
Canada, Miami, Weymouth & Portland, Ireland,
And in 2012 at London’s call they had vigour,
Because they took the bronze for their hand.
They matched this win with a bronze in Rio,
When both were “elated” at their spot, place;
Alexandra has a degree in sciences natural,
From the University of Bath which is just ace.

Hannah suffered from being bullied at school,
So turned to the Royal Yachting Association;
Born with no lower right arm in 1985 cool,
She originally sailed a mirror, neat motion.
Initially she didn't like disability sailing events,
But Andy Cassell, a British Paralympic sailor,
Directed her to them, so she put her cents,
Into sonars, larger boats with a team factor.
She joined with John Robertson and Thomas,
And gave her all in the mixed sonar contests,
Where she won 2 silvers and 2 bronze bases,
And also 3 golds at the Disabled World jests.
This was between 2003 and 2015 Melborne,
Starting in Athens, going on to Sonderborg,
In Denmark, then to Perth, Australia born,
And then to Medemblik in Holland, a gorge.
Then came Weymouth which took them onto,
Melbourne, and from there Rio they made,
Where the trio created a ninth place portfolio,
Which thrilled them nonetheless with blade.

John had an accident with a motorbike,
Which left him paralysed from the waist,
So since then Sonar’s have been his like,
Three to five sailor boats which haste.
He’s from Sunderland and he trains hard,
At Weymouth & Portland Sailing Academy,
Born in February 1972 on the 11th card,
He sails with mates Stodal, Thomas manly.
In the fine Disabled World Championships,
In the mixed sonar, 2003 Athens, Greece,
The team of three won bronze for their lips,
‘Cos their team work paid off with grease.
2005 and Sonderborg in southern Denmark,
The trio took the gold, so 2006 and Australia,
Perth, the three took another gold quark:
2010 in Medembilk, Holland, silver weather.
In 2011 in Weymouth, Dorset in England,
The three of them made the silver position,
And in 2012 at Charlotte Harbour’s sand,
They gave a fine bronze medal exposition.
In the London 2012 games they came in 5th
So 9th in Rio, and John also plays tennis,
No phobias, his hero’s Valentino Rossi, pith,
And his favourite venue is Perth, simply bliss.

A wag said that puppy love
gave him kittens night and day.
He loved a girl in Weymouth,
but became a throwaway.

Memories of him are still there upon Weymouth Road
his sullen white cross nailed to the old Kauri
symbolize by countless layers of uncaring street wise graffiti,
while burdensome scars revealed by heavy metal grow faint
and the old Rose i placed withered and faded
in the over grown yet still blood stained grass,
a monument still there for the few of us
those that cared those with lives full of guilt
'when you mate ran out of life number nine!'
