Premium Member In a Celestial World

"Only in darkness can we glimpse the fullest light
our soul carries for us." ~ Angie Weiland-Crosby

Tonight, the moon appears to be a lustrous pearl
A jewel in a pendant lying on a black velvet pillow
Joined by diamonds in realms of a celestial world
I'm mesmerized as I sit beneath limbs of a willow
Faceted stars stand guard around a heavenly gate
Open to the effulgent beauty of each glowing light
I mutter in awe as I remain a shadow in the night

Premium Member winter tapestry

"winter knits her forest with frost as the wind chimes . . ."

                                           Quote by _A. Weiland Crosby

winter is a tapestry of wonderous scenes
with all the hues of bare trees and evergreens
consider the tiny sparrow ...
many can rest on winter branches narrow
as snow falls beyond and frost covers their winter forest
gathering together for warmth is this tiny bird modest

Premium Member Autumn's Burnished Canopy

"Autumn knows a mother's heart.
It gives and then lets go."~ Angie Weiland-Crosby

How proudly she stood, surmounting the tallest hill,
a blazing maple tree whose limbs spread far and wide.
In Summer, her green leaves swayed upon soft breezes,
but Autumn painted them shades of crimson and rust.

A burnished canopy, gilded by golden rays of the sun.
Ruffled by an errant wind, each leaf danced like a flame
before her limbs were barren, left in a state of malaise.
The stinging of the season's first frost caused her to weep.

Gnarled were her empty branches, as she stood weeping.
She was bereft and grieving as if she'd lost her children.
Maple held deep loathing for the changes of this season,
when leaves withered and the world was gloomy brown.

She endured Fall and Winter's snow by dreaming of Spring
when again she would glow on the summit of the tallest hill.
Pleased with her budding foliage and a newborn sapling,
she'd be dressed in green finery, where songbirds would nest.

Like snowflakes your words fall silent. But my heart still hears your voice.
Angie Weiland-Crosby

Among soft glow of velvet Northern Lights.
A winter's palette in landscapes of lace,
glitters like ice crystals in moonlit nights,
sculpted by nature's wonderland of grace.
Stars sparkle in stillness of frozen space.

Frost kissed twilight covers branches in white,
as silent whispers of snowfall take flight.
Floating like ballerinas in Swan Lake,
weaving a milky quilt on our campsite,
whilst we listen to sounds crackling flames make.

Nature's Invitation

"Time in nature soothes my soul's lovely wild."
                                                    - Angie-Weiland Crosby

Trees mirrored in the clear lake water
stand tall against the backdrop of mountains,
           Clouds have touched their summits,
even as a sunburnt peak peeks through,
With a golden glow, sunrays shimmer
over the sheen of still water,
Green shrubs make way for a dense forest behind them,
A cuckoo calls out somewhere, as if in invitation,
even as other birds join in with their varied arias,
Morning greetings can't be sweeter than this,
The day is lovely, and jade shadows beckon,
Would you join me for a walk in the woods...?

Suspended

SUSPENDED

this static quiet...

stagnantly
fills my space
silently
the air hangs
dense and muted
my fingers type
numb floating

appendages

rest slightly bent
motionless
hurt dripping off
the tips deferred
now adjourned

another tortured
soul
suspended
in
time
