my son is having weekly online lessons. with
a tutor. that is an assertive declarative fact.
and so is the asiatic toad.
ploughing represents life.
clumsy, stumbling stuff
i now own five different lanyards around my neck
and can get into many places with confidence.
cullinan diamond.
the tutor is a university student. he asks, 'my dad
wants to know what music university students
are listening to nowadays.'
she replies, 'soft rock and pop.'
what happened to the Plastic Ono Band?

A rabbit's life, tragically upended
because of the company he befriended -
where, once, happiness had brimmed,
he grew old, and his eyesight dimmed.
His brain slowed down like molasses.
'Twas then I saw him wearing glasses.
So, pitifully, he did implore,
but the carrot said, "don't darken my door".
In the end, he took the dead man's walk,
led by a vitamin A-poor celery stalk.

wear pajamas to breakfast if you can
this was said by my cute guy garbage man
he is a witty guy, this man named Stan
He said it to my dementia-teetering grandma Nan
She showed up in the cafeteria in her pajamas too
They have cartoon ponies on them in pink and blue
No one noticed, for the rest of them were casual at this meal.
No one hustled her back to her room, it was no big deal.

Seven faces she wore at different times.
She knew not when each face’s expression
might appear (some rarely; some oftentimes,
giving to others a different impression.)
Horrific abuse caused her mind to split
when she was young. Her main self took back seat
when stressed, but she was not aware of it.
Always she was feeling so incomplete.
Her main personality would just go black.
She’d find herself somewhere not knowing why
or how she got there, or what brought her back
to the face of hers which time had passed by.
Help she sought. After months of digging deep
through hypnotherapy and through much talk,
a better hold on herself she could keep,
for secrets she was able to unlock.
Those secrets that had fractured her poor mind
she has now confronted; seven faces
to one another are no longer blind,
and beautiful hope she now embraces.

classy as a diamond ring
razzlng and dazzling throughout the night
these sweater wearing roosters are sparkling
razzling and dazzling throughout the night
foghorn leghorn forming
dialed in the farm yard run
roosters my word
strutting with pep
do nothing wrong
in this manure and goo
Sing’n with gusto into morning dew
These sweater wearing roosters are sparkling
Razzling and dazzling throughout the night
Foghorn leghorn forming
Dialed in the farm yard run
Roosters my word
Strutting with pep
Do nothing wrong
In this manure and goo
Sing’n with gusto into morning dew
these sweater wearing roosters are sparkling
razzlng and dazzling throughout the night
these sweater wearing roosters are sparkling

I know a young lady, her name is Kim
Whenever I see her, she makes my heart grin
They call her a doctor but to me she's a friend
Whatever my ailment she knows how to mend
With every new visit, my symptoms take flight
She knows how to soothe me to remedy my plight
After all these decades finally found a new doc
Who makes me feel comfortable wearing just socks
('twas I just wearing socks... not the doc)
I'll gladly recommend her to everyone I know
My resistance to doctors I sure did outgrow
So next time I'm fevered or feeling some pain
Even though quite minor like a bump or a sprain
I'll make an appointment and really toute suite
Visiting Doctor Kimberly is surely a treat
She'll fix me up quickly she'll fix me up fine
Three cheers for Kimberly this new doc of mine

This old road is wearing me down
7 more miles and I will be out of town
Ain’t got no wagon, and holes in my boots
Darn me; if the weather never suits
Yeah
This old road is wearing me down
7 more miles and I will be out of town
Heading westwards looking for work
No matter my dress code, I’m ain’t no shirk
Yeah
This old road is wearing me down
7 more miles and I will be out of town
50 dollars gets me a good days pay
Cutting, and raking in this darn hay
Yeah
This old road is wearing me down
7 more miles and I will be out of town
Getting me some rest under this old oak tree
Whilst playing my guitar on my knee
Yeah
This old road is wearing me down
7 more miles and I will be out of town
Then heading home before the setting of the sun
Back tomorrow, a poor man's work is never done
Yeah
This old road is wearing me down
7 more miles and I will be out of town

A polly-fox is a skirt.
What kind of polly-fox are you wearing today?
Oh, you NEVER wear a polly-fox?
I thought you were from Scotland.
I discovered polly-fox yesterday
In a student Thesaurus.
A new fact I was determined to use in a poem today.
This is it.
You’re welcome

It's thrilling
But so is this poem
I want to take up a most profound authority
Throughout the neighbourhood
A village pastor
And various pursuits of a similar kind
Give me my own planet
My own earf
Postmodernist scumbag
And cowboys from hell days
I want to hear the new Beyonce album
Between the buried and me
I am a cloud cuckoo lander
And wear a wig when driving my car
And the drying clothes all in the attic
I haven't time to fold them away tidily
But even the thieves were forgiven

She put her cowboy boots on first and then her make up
Sniffing her ample posterior was her wiener dog Mup.
His brother Max looked interested from the cozy chair.
But if he left his cushion, Mup would be there.
She put lipstick and powder on her pretty face.
She is one of their besties, corpulent woman, Grace.
Her husband asked “why did you put your boots on first?”
She gave him a look that was one of her worst.
I mean, you are in your pajamas right? asked old Fred.
The dogs knew this was a mistake. But neither said.
Don’t go there with her! She is wearing that to work.
Don’t be ridiculous, Grace said. Don’t be a jerk!
But those are your PJ’s right? Fred said again.
She flounced away as if he had committed a sin.
He looked at the dogs and said “I like you the best.”
He was now in the doghouse, as you could have guessed.

I don’t understand people who sacrifice their fun and freedom to appear with self control that only knows of shame beneath them
the ones dressed up in expensive clothes
who stand around all prim and proper
looking down their nose at those
found lower on the social ladder
They’re terrified you’ll realise they’re absolutely useless
they provide a sense of pride whilst making daft excuses
they’ll talk a game of expert claims but you won’t see them do this
they’ll speak their mind in hindsight times to hide they are recluses
their character will alter
to fit who they are talking too
saying what they oughta
regardless of what they think true
They try to act mature thinking mature would never laugh
they try to seem assured but listen closely they sound daft
they’ll be the first to tell you of the skill sets that they have
they call it LDE and there’s a lot of it in Bath
And LDE won’t recognise it acts the way it’s sized
always overcompensating always on the rise
always competing always thinking there’s a prize
always acting like they’re not they’re wearing a disguise.

I'm wearing the blue,
yes, proudly, and don't prejudge me
and I won't prejudge you.
Some nights I sleep swirling in
nightmares,
seeing the blood of victims, and
I still very much care.
I grope for the lamp on my nightstand,
my headache becomes a tight band,
my wife awakened, softly talks me down,
I would love to leave this "toddlin' town."
Brother, sister police officers agree,
that our job puts a strain on our families,
I come home from tragedies such as
gun violence, child abuse, accidents,
robberies,
yet, I'm accused of being
cold and unfeeling,
when the hurt closes in and is
joy stealing.
Yes, I wear the blue,
my life, my heart is of rescue,
take a ride with me to see,
some of the human acrimony,
Yet, at the precinct it's comforting to receive,
flowers and cookies from some caring
people reaching out,
that's what gratitude is about,
it helps after long hours,
and when some distressed strangers
say, "Thank you for responding to my call,"
it can, at times-
relieve me from the pall.
We need to be more understood,
we need more cooperation from the
neighborhoods,
after all, it's for all our good. ~

Your hands lingered as prints upon my mind.
I became a glove for your love.
I gave you time,
I gave you my tongue
so you could speak a moment of ecstasy.
You gave me Cauliflower cheese,
the only meal you could cook well.
Then when you were done
with my squishy love
you left on a bus, bound for West Ham,
left and did not wave back
from its people stuffed windows.
That was back then
when cakes were left out in the rain,
when poets wore bell-bottoms
when flower power flexed its stems
with blond muscle men.
No beaches in Tottenham,
the parks probably still are
municipal mud baths.
I recall it rained for days
in our love-stained apartment.
London often chooses
to live in small puddles of loneliness.
The mattress we had inherited,
survived to moan on and on.
