Our weaknesses are always pointed out- yet our strengths stay hidden and are never recognized
Just because you have weaknesses doesn't mean you can't find the strength to overcome them
Like others I have weaknesses,
That make me less than perfect.
Things I don't want spread abroad,
Lest they leave me suspect.
Some people trust their neighbors,
Way more than they should.
Some don't trust them near enough,
And neither way is good.
Some folks just can't be trusted,
With e'en the smallest things,
And taken into confidence,
What wickedness they bring.
I told my sister 'bout a weakness,
That I found out I had.
She told her friends and then told mine,
And then told Mom and Dad.
I told my friend about a weakness,
I did not want found out.
She told someone, they told someone,
They spread it all about.
I told my pastor 'bout a weakness,
To be kept twixt us and God.
He asked the board to pray for me,
My honesty applaud.
My friend if you need someone,
In whom you can confide,
Leave your troubles with The Lord,
On Him you can rely.
No one knows you better,
But He'll turn you not away.
He'll keep your secrets in His heart,
And throw your sins away.
He turns your weakness into strength,
And failure becomes victory.
Keep your secrets 'tween you and He.
To folks remain a mystery.
I am a spherical being called Earth
Everything in me was meant to live
Except the irony called death
Sadly,on my terrain it moves
My secrets were meant to be secret
Not stuffs inmates discuss in classes
It was not even said in discreet
But a topic for the masses
Inside me, humans lives
Power and strength strives
To prevail over nature's course
My weaknesses they all guessed
I am not angry that they are nerds
I am angry that they are sad
Sadness caused by every little thing they guessed
That brought nemesis into them
Purge me of my weaknesses
by MaxSincere ??
I do not loose ...I choose to be a winner....
I'm confident and cocky ...but never self centered ...
I was searching for salvation til I found it in the mirror...
Purge me from my weaknesses
and teach my faith conviction...
Lord forgive me for my sins as I kneel at heavens entrance...
bare my soul in every sentence angel whispers teach me temperance...
I refuse to be the father that my daughter can't remember...
so never shall I waver my resilience from this pool pit...
Forever may I favor ...brilliance over bull**** ....
When I was a child though bright but always in fright
Accepted whatever the people furled with fury or flurry
Resulted in to know self –my strengths and weaknesses
That gave me a chance to know what I am in reality.
I accepted all challenges to my large family life
Self-acceptance came from meeting challenges
As a result of that, I went beyond all of them.
Learnt, the greatest success is successful acceptance.
One of my grandsons says I am like a fierce tiger
But the fierceness is in my words and not deeds
One of my daughter-in-laws says I am a volcano
Bursting but beneficently and that too very rarely.
I have never numbed myself in trials and tribulations
Nor built mental walls to exclude pain from my life
And have found peace not in denial, but in victory
And never in life have been interested in stolen goods.

Third Place win
Contest by Verlena Walker
Know you know your weaknesses and strengths
Know you
Know how you be depends on you
Know
Know you help others when you want to
Know keeping a will is a must
Know the light you share yields results
Know you keep your inner strength
Know
Know your entering your place is more than you think
Know your place is king
Know in you ingredients for life
Know your window to heaven is here
Know knight in shining armor in you
Know
I crumble with a setting sun
The colors streak and I come undone
Quiet invades despite cicadas sick
Emerging a year late on a low burnt wick
Colors infect the sky like spilt paint
An early moon visible however faint
Goes looming racing and panting west
I put down my flowers and await the test
I am left to myself, these nightly battles
With each new star my confidence rattles
Once I used to wear the moon about my neck
When I was the sky and she was the speck
My constant blanket, I undo my hair
Split and raw from each nights’ wear
I stand to fight, this will not pass
My naked feet find cool wet grass
I reach in one pocket and pull out my past
And from the other, a future wide and vast
Armed I destroy a black velvet veil
And slowly but surly the night does pale
I replace my weapons and tie my hair
And watch a sun, both new and rare.
