Dad's radio

I look back at my dad's radio
Shuffling through the channels
Cause the signal is too weak
But my dad will wait in awe

When the presenter starts off at the top of the hour
You'd see my dad fixed in his stool
Still to get to hear the nation address
The words of hope he hopes to hear

It's been many decades now but he's still keen
He's never wavered in what the country could be
And he's served it well
Like a true statesman, he put his family first

The radio brought together the whole village
It's where the hearts converged
And drummed all through the hour
Before the drums kept beating from a distance

That radio has seen the best of the years
From the regimes that got us out of houses to cheer on
To regimes that made it possible for kids to get an education
To the one who built futuristic roads

I bought him a new radio
But it doesn't sound like the old one
But he's eager to turn it on
And not miss the news

Premium MemberJust for You

My love for you didn't come by how
  I felt
But it was in my heart by His impartation
Then I felt its pulsating surge overhelmn
  Me
I wouldn't let go again like a delirium on high
  It kept coming
I never wondered how, and never wavered
Because it was heart imparted
Then I knew we were meant to be for life
25 years and still counting it has not diminished
Its worth is invaluable more than gold and diamonds
This is for you, my babe Ibilate, my one and only love.

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Hellen Keller

Snow-tipped mountains ranged around the prairie,
Small rivulets wavered down the steep sides,
Spreading nutriments, flourishing flowers.

Bright red poppies, and yellow celandines
Swayed all around, as a balmy breeze blew.
Aiding agile grey geese gracefully glide.
Above the shade of a cluster of oaks.

A few old men tended a flock of sheep,
Most chewed unleavened bread, nibbling on cheese.
Till to a tavern they'd go, to drink beer.

Premium MemberA golly whopper's catch

There was a young woman who yearned for a mate.
Sadly cat food was all that she ate...
The cans with seafood she clearly favored and from
this diet she never wavered.
Many thought her an attractive gal, in spite of slight
whiskers and her woeful meow.
None dared go close as her breath was so foul..
Come night on a twinkling star she would wish.
At the break of each dawn she'd gargle and swish.
Regardless she always reeked heavily of fish.
She couldn't rid of this seafood scent which seeped
thru her pores and wouldn't relent, so she
moved outdoors and bathed at a brook.
One day she got snagged by a golly whopper hook.

soar

for I soar the unrestricted skies
a terrestrial to bring my demise
how lowly of me to die by the sword
such a small forgiving creature abhorred
drive the wavered blade through my diapsid
a symbol of freedom, now fallen and placid

My Prayer For Today
Miracle Man
10/15/2024

Before today’s sunrise I awoke feeling blessed,
ready to do bidding with some new day’s test.
In prayer, I ask you, to make me an advancer,
it's me again Lord, seeking from you an answer.
I pray, Lord I’m weak and need your strength,
that I’ll feel your nearness, not at arms length.
That those requesting prayer, I will remember,
both those unknown, and each church member.

Lord, send me to one, whose faith has grown weak,
then give me the words that you’d have me speak.
Increase my faith toward this day’s unknown,
and at my day’s end bless the seed I have sown.
From your given mission I pray I’ve not wavered,
from one who feels blessed, and highly favored.
Amen

A MAN CALLED BAI BUREH

In the olden, amidst an era where valor defined men, a towering figure emerged, Bai Bureh, the epitome of courage and leadership, a beacon of hope to his people.

Hailing from humble beginnings in a small village, his prowess transcended boundaries, commanding respect even from empires. Fondly known as Kebalai of Kasseh, his spirit never wavered in the face of conflict.

Witnessing injustice, particularly in the unjust levies imposed on his people for their dwellings, he fearlessly led a noble rebellion against the oppressive British regime, seeking rightful restitution for his people's land.

Bai Bureh's legacy is etched in the plague of our past, a testament to his unwavering principles and indomitable spirit. Even in his absence, his story remains a source of inspiration, a reminder of the power of resilience and righteousness.

The first time we met
Was the day I knew you were the one to get
My first Jack Russell Parson Terrier
Was coming home without a carrier So small and plump
Holding you firmly so you couldn’t jump
Feisty and full of energy
I knew then you would bring us wonderful memories
Our walks together
I will always treasure
Your strong presence
Showed your wittiness for independence
How you never wavered
Your might and will both tailored
Giving me your paw
Showing me you’re smarter than before
Hearing your mighty bark
Would of called the entire animal kingdom to the ark
Playing with your soccer ball
Displaying the skills of a professional on team Nepal
With all your might in your heart
Helping us to understand the importance
of a restart
Your determination
Your life
Will always remain the greatest gift
that forever shines on
so bright

Blessed And Highly Favored
Miracle Man
4/26/2024

I know that I’m blessed,
and highly favored.
Because my love for Jesus,
has never wavered.

When near death,
I returned from the brink.
God gave me thoughts,
about eternity to bethink.

He took from my thoughts,
those years I had wasted.
Giving me a new vision,
of remaining years untasted.

I’ve gone through much,
yet remain feeling blessed.
I wouldn’t have my testimony,
without God giving the test.

Becoming our Parents, Take it Easy

My mother and father never wavered in their routine. After each one of my siblings sprang into life, my father sat on the porch and spit ‘Day’s Work’ tobacco juice down his chin while my mother snapped beans, hummed softly, and smiled. Even throughout the years, as old friends passed on, they whittled and spit or hummed and snapped. As one-by-one each of their children found lovers and moved away, they remained steadfast. They refused to yield to sorrow. They paid no attention to poverty. They ignored the propaganda of government officials and world potentates. I can’t help but wonder if they ever had dreams of city lights and all-night diners; of drive-through this and 50% off that? Did they fantasize about having a dollar in their pocket, more meat on the table, or just being able to visit a doctor when ailments became more than home-made remedies could fix? Or were they way too busy to worry about such things.

Change those things you can
Don’t worry about the rest
Take life as it comes

Loves Reluctant Farewell

In the tempest of our love, I stood my ground,
Embracing the whirlwind, the chaos unbound.
Through the agony, the tears that drowned,
I clung to you, in love profound.
I cherished you with a fervent flame,
In the heart's crucible, I staked my claim.
In a cosmic dance, fate spun a new thread,
To remix our saga, where possibilities spread.
You unlocked my chains when my courage wavered, deceptive bindings that left me unsure. If faced with the choice of you or my final sigh, in life's ultimate test I'd choose you….thank you.

Bender

All night
a sleepwalking death
stumbled in and out of his prone body.

He had been drinking again,
whisky fumes rolled around
a dry, thick tongue.

The air in the room
wavered from hot to cold,
feverish self-repeating scenes
of Paganini trilling a fiery violin
haunted his aching brow.

A sledgehammer dawn hit him.
Death withdrew from dulled senses,
yet it lingered like a bloodshot eye,
at the bottom
of a half-full decenter.

This is not the entity that has been touted and written about
since the times before tamed fire
It is fire, it is malevolent and for that reason it entices me
Enveloped in a shroud of rage unrelenting
Uncaring in its timid posture, it sits patiently
light caressing its curves like a flamenco dancer
In the veins of a volcanic structure, streams of magma
flow slow and serene, effortless in its fervency
I see it staring back at me, and I must pay my dues
for such a crime to even think I could withstand it
My fingertips wavered within its presence, and yet
with daring stupidity I embraced it, the entity

I believe in the torments of Hell now, this is not of Earth’s soil
Lightning flailed like a wailing newborn within me
With every breath I took, every single one,
was a step towards inevitability
The bellows within my body were a searing forge, the sands
of my finite years turned to glass entering my airways
But oh what divine fruity ecstasy you are
Gehenna, this entity that offers me spiritual sustenance
in this experience of culinary S&M

A Dying Man's Prayer

"Only drowning men can see Him"

I'm here today not because I slipped
But because I decided I wanted to see you
To tell you how I've slipped from glory
This is a call for help so that I can come back to you

I've been walking in darkness
But my eyes haven't lost the light
That's why I keep going knowing
That there's light at the end of it all

I'm here today, sinking in the chaos I created
For I stayed far away from the word
Now I've forgotten to say a prayer
Could you pray for me or with me

For I'm feeling my soul slowly letting go
An inner peace that's lonely
Coz I know I've fallen off into the cycle
Been going in circles instead of walking to you

I'm here today not because I don't believe
But because I keep doubting if it will come to be
Coz I've been praying till my lips fell silent
My weak spirit wavered & I slept through the blessing

Show me the way to you today
And I'll swim right across
Cause if I do nothing I'll drown
My soul is already soaking wet from regret

7:20 Pm, Travis Lovitt Patio At the Right Pillar

The heavens can’t admire themselves
The spotted clouds, and the opaque wavered clouds
Like a light glide of a brush.
Our Lord gifted us with round eyes
That reflect the heavens
And a mind to ponder all his leavened world

Those chutes of bark and bugs
Aren’t impressed by themselves;
Their flat or spiky leaves or truck wide trunk
That I need tools to fell.
The Almighty handed us fingers
To clench and sift and grip
And the air the flowers leaven

This concrete is flat and hard
I’m used to sitting here and becoming
Numb, in my rear,
While I spend my time like hard earned cash
To bask in what’s given free
