dawn-born bubbles rise
lifting in glass to the sky
an exultant choir—
ringing a sacred mantra
to summon the faithful throng
the soft incense clings,
invisible yet binding,
threading through the mist—
binding spirits together
all sharing a common breath
wind shakes the blossoms
perfume drifts out as a lure
for lone foragers—
coming back with a new dance
a waggle step hymn pathway
one for one and all
though small they rise together
heart tuned to one pulse—
a common proud heritage
ancient unbroken alive
when threats bang the gate
when summer's furnace bears down
wings thunder like drums—
rallying to guard the home
defending their holy ground
let us circle close
songs and breath woven in thread
of effervescence
gracious in our common cause—
fizzing in chalice of light

Spring
is here!
Little lambs
are gambolling
in verdant pastures.
Soon the white woolly ewes
let hungry offspring suckle.
I smile as the lamb's tails waggle
as they guzzle the nutritious milk
whilst the ever patient ewes munch fresh grass.
Golden daffodils and pretty tulips
add colour after dull winter days.
Striped bumble bees collect pollen
beautiful butterflies dance
in the warmth of the sun
Mother Nature gifts
the whole planet.
Stunning spring
I just
love!

In a space reserved for not thinking
a TV blames itself for telling lies to you.
It's another fake cathartic moment.
A wall clock coughs into its hands,
Mouthing a bullet proof prayer -
I waggle limbs into more natural shapes.
Avoid mirrors for a while
until my face settles.
Stamp petulantly
over a not-welcome mat.
The sun has got itself snagged
in shadowy thickets,
a wind sharpens itself
on my nose
perseverance snaps at my heels.
“Go tell it on the mountain”
I speak this uplifting line
while grimacing through a snarl.
Shouldering an invisible load,
climbing a medium-sized mediocre hill.
It takes a whole metaphorical day
just to climb it halfway.
Pause, take a breath.
Try to remember, try to forget,
Try walking backwards for a while.

Tried writing stuff of a serious nature
Just knew it wasn't for me
Dabbled a bit but I just couldn't hack it
A humorist is all I'll be
It's not exclusive, still write about love
Some about conflict and war
But I'd rather write about a sorry dude
Slipped on a banana peel and swore
Don't call me Burns or Shelley or Keats
Prefer ones that make me cackle
Guess you could call me low brow poet
Causing one's tail to waggle
Was born with a silver spoon in my mouth
Fortunate when so many struggle
Don't call me down, it wasn't a choice
Much like the law of the jungle
The luck of the draw, whatever you call it
Really didn't have much of a say
I was truly a product of World War II years
Still happy to this very day

You fascinate clearly
Once you're out of your hive
Flitting here, landing there
Keeping gardens alive
There's a sweetness, and yet
Nasty sting so beware
Your work all consumes
As you zoom through the air
On return to the den
Over-share with a flurry
Of your flower-full journey
Full of buzzing and scurry
You waggle your tail
With your moves; figure eight
So your bee-chums to flowers
Can with ease navigate
You are sharing the load
And you hum as you go
Your communal spirit
More successful than solo
I envy you somewhat
Though your lifespan is shorter
That you dance while you work
I think more humanoids oughta
For we stress and we toil
Little sweetness to show
For our labouring lives
Whether sunshine or snow
Yet the Spring flowers beckon
In the garden of life
Perhaps to shimmy's the answer
To this trouble and strife

he stood …
atop another world
another …
promethean creation
ineffable beauty and innovation spread at his
feet like a glorious carpet of progress
a macrocosm of concept and imagination
that surprised even HIM
he had, again, exceeded his own
undefinable ingenuity and prospect
and the result took his breath
but are gods truly thus if
they’re unpredictable
stochastic, even -
if they’re capable of astonishment?!?
he must have expected this
deep-down …
what’s the point of genesis
if it’s not to improve
or at least applaud?
he spread his arms and gaze
swept it all in with a breath
such incredible accomplishment
such grace and grandeur
yet …
now must come the little creatures
to behold it all
to adulate and worship
to extoll what was to him but a
waggle of his finger
poor little things
he pitied them, really
(though he thought THEM marvels … once)
to be so … insignificant -
so lamentable and small and … well …
limited …
but they DID serve an objective
for without their rather pathetic existence
he’d be left with a question
unanswerable
only one …
why??

Midnight queen with your gleaming eyes
Obvious star person with wings that rise
We see you do what you do, you are our prize.
Mystics watching your antics in the evening skies
Midnight queen you are pure and true.
Giving us dreams when dreams are due.
Fancy in ways that wiggle, waggle, giggle and woo.
I wonder about you, midnight queen, I truly do.

Dear Friend
Save our friends
Our bees
Our natural medicine
Save our friends
Our bees
Sign the Green Peace Petition
Please
Without our bees no colour to be seen
Without our bees no more poetry no more dreams
Without our bees nature's gift
Her melody
There'll be no you or me...
Dust to dust
Ashes to ashes to ashes
Our earth will become
Mother Earth no longer our mum
Here
I am here buzzing in your ear
' Please stop this sleeping disease,'
waggle waggle
'wake up wake up"
waggle waggle
' take action please '
waggle waggle
'roll up roll up your sleeves'
waggle waggle
'put your name to the Green Peace Petition ...

Righteousness In Distress
Many indisputably dreaded lunacy ensued yet hoped there is no hell
On a dim corner, the deposed 2017 president wiggle in his dank cell
Fake hero inside a fat ego in Moscow, waggle bloody fists of outrage
Nothing tragic happens if neurons are at bay and not on a rampage!
Societal issues is like week old bread without slivers of magic butter
Words embellished with hot air eventually sink masses in iced water
Sword of justice seizes a mad czar and a true charlatan alleged holy
If evil doers cramp your insides, chomp anti-acid, dump your worry!

Overwhelmingly fragile life is,
It often knocked us down on our knees.
Facing the daybreak has been exceedingly petrifying
where to rise where to set?
Do I even belong here?
A loner I've always been.
From million miles, I shot the star yet fall on lion mouth
there's scarcity of rooms to procure all that's hurting,
All that's maiming.
then what's left is all bogus,
A goal of its own to attain
winning or losing I am on the race.
Even so, as I set about to stretch my wings and waggle
No longer could I hobble around.
while all I own is learning to recline on Jesus,
the Master of all the masters
supersede the unfathomable vagueness,
rose brighter when all I comprehend is a grey of tilted shades
He truly is my superhero for life.

Oh, Little Bee!
You waggle to flowers with a spree.
Back to your colony hung on the tree.
And bring the golden honey for me.
Having heard your buzzing, we flee.
But taste your sweet honey with glee.
How gentle you are for giving it free!
To pay tribute, our best-loved game is titled as ’Spell Bee’.

I buzzed around
Amid our clan’s beesound.
My swarm buzzed in cloud
In beespeak spoke aloud.
But the babble of the bees
Suddenly did cease,
For one with gut swollen,
Legs burdened by pollen,
Dropped out of the swarm
And sounded an alarm.
We came to a rest,
Behaved at our best,
To ken what he’d say,
On this blessed day.
He dropped on the ground,
Did a hop and a bound.
Like showman he pranced,
Strutted and danced,
Clockwise he went,
Clear message he sent.
It was the bees waggle!
It told the straggle
Where lay the flowers,
Nectar and pollen showers!
So off we took to flight,
All of us were light,
To be glutted by dusk,
With bounty of bees' musk!
Basking in the sun,
His waggle now done,
The hero of the bees,
Gloried as the bee’s knees!

It’s not easy to be a bee
Our crowded view of life
Sometimes the only things I see
Are trouble, toil and strife
We search to find the source of food
Then hurry to the hive
We hype the others in the mood
With waggle dance and jive
The queen, protected and aloof
Not like all the others
She is the sign and living proof
When smoke comes and smothers
Work and waggle, my daily chore
Then search a place to hide
Being a bee is so much more
When dodging pesticide
I’m a worker, and not a drone
I hope that you can see
When you harvest sweet honeycomb
It tough being a bee
