Premium MemberReason To Cry

On the Jewish calendar, Tisha b'Av is the saddest day
We don't even smile, say 'Hi' or 'Good morning'
For when those who spied out the Land spoke untruly
The Lord gave the Jewish People fair warning

"You say that here in the desert you choose to die
My promise to lead you into the Land, you defy"
'By my word,' the Lord thundered
'I'll give you reason on this day to cry!'

And that we all know is why
Flames shot up from our Temple so high
  Darkening Jerusalem's tear-streaked sky
exposing sins, once hidden, to the naked eye

Premium MemberAfghanistan

At the remote crossroads of Central and South Asia
Fostering pre-history vestiges as landlocked country
Gathered the dust of the famous ancient silk route
Hibernated long in the cauldron of tribal ethnicity
Assimilating deeply the Islamic culture and customs
Never compromised with personal freedom concept
In spite of the drag of poverty plunging people in abyss
Subservient spectators of numerous military campaigns
Turning the land into tormented target of geopolitics
All crusades crumbled in inhospitable hostile terrain
Not untruly it is nicknamed “graveyard of empires”.

My Bicycle

I travelled around the world on my bike
I wandered many places that you might like
Hotels, restaurants any other places were reserved
I wanted to visit one glamour hotel
Frozen faces looked at my outlook and my modest bike
They said places reserved and no parking to oldest bike
I was angry at first, but then I felt hungry
Went to the restaurant, no one made me angry there
Cause there was no soul to get my bike to parking there
Many countries around the world sun is shining everyday
I wanted to testify, so I rented Bentley for one holiday
With a hat, put some beard and moustache on my face
My Bentley aided me to see receptionist’s smiling fake face
They offered me rooms that are deluxe
Parking was available to my big car,
People are so flux, yeah so flux!
The world is beautiful liar
 Far gone conscience is crier
Magnanimous rich people are truly missing
Greedy rich, filch people’s smell is untruly hissing
I keep on dreaming, riding my humble bike
Wishing to meet modest people that I like…

Julie

Julie

By our PM Julie
who is mesmerising truly
Kick starts Jumbo Jets untruly
Do I tug the old forelock

A boat person with agenda
Tried to bend me old bombs fender
Nice as a dollar lender
Till payments due to dock

Attack me did he Houli
Me not foolie foolie
Just kicked him in the goolies
What a blinking shock

With venom he spat
And launched another attack
So I sidestepped
hit him just below the ear

to the ground he went flop
sleeping well now he’d stopped
so I drove away
and had a bloody beer.

Forum With My Heart – a Prose Poetry

Forum Nine
(for: my poetess-commentator)
     LoudVoice:
O, the dazzles of my Sports city; in groups of Guilds – behold the
stylish touches with which the Painter & the Architect do adorn our city: a visitor would
think of us & acknowledge us for the organization of the Classical Olympic Games. Then,
what a pleasure, a treasure accomplished in the solid work done in our Sports city! Of the
Myth, History & Wisdom carved for Posterity, aren’t Work, Art & Nature so honourable?
     LowVoice:
Then, our erratic Age of Fashion has certain capacities for praise …
     LoudVoice:
O, that’s untruly frank about this pointed issue I hadn’t your guts to raise!
(to be contd.)

Backstabbing

People ask, they seem concerned
But they don't know, they haven't learned
These things they yearn to go and speak
They speak these words you do observe
Your feelings blurred
Then comes back to you these words, they've swerved
They gave their word, but took a turn
Now who's to burn, these words they churn
Your stomachs aching, your heart is breaking
At some awful point you've been mistaking
Who wasn't thinking, their heads are shaking
Of disapproval, with no removal
These words consume you, you should have knew who
Perceptions unruly, words spoken untruly, actions unduly
All this backstabbing has suddenly ruled me
I'm angered, I'm scared, these people don't care
Innocent reputation derailed
Too late to see where you've failed
And yet can't handle it well
Stuck in a corrupted blind trail
Acknowledgement of the fact
That you can't take these words back
At every angle attacked, speeches not even exact
But as these words they are spoken
No giving back such a token
