The Liberation

"The Liberation"

When your home
is torn out from underneath you,
like a rug or a tablecloth,
nothing of value is left standing
on the surface, except silence.

life implodes for a while,
you’d think the vessel empty.
however, eventually,
what burns inside
is enough to fuel

an atomic missile;
you think better of that
and turn your efforts towards
other higher-level new worlds
and your escape mission.

a bid for life at all costs,
you take survival
and run with it,
igniting the benefits
of universal Love,

blasting off
from the nucleus
with the courageous
winged warriors
locked in, seated;

from the front
you turn the
ignition key,
squadron leading
The Liberation
platforms

like it's
some kind of baptism
by fire,

like it's
some kind of rebirth,

like it's
some kind of suicide mission

you smile, and
settle for,

Thanks Giving Season.

mission accomplished,
you've become ungrounded,
you're finally leaving
Earth

Women and children
first

Don'T Bother Overthinking the Past

Just stop thinking about it,
Don't bother losing yourself to it,
Stop getting your mind overclouded
Don't overthink about it.

Past's not gonna change
Present's in your hand,
Future's awaiting you,
So does it take that long for you to realise;
Time always flows like river,
Everything that you wrote in sand of time,
Now flies, all erased.
Heartaches and smiles never will fade
Cause this present will become the past
So don't rewind back in memories

It's time you stepped out of the past , grab your present and run towards the future.
Take all the twists and turns,
It's fate, following your addicted brain,
In its fabulously misguided taste,
To that unordinary life you seek.

Time will record your past,
Actions will define your future,
Don't worry about the leap I am taking,
Cuz I feel like I am losing myself ,
Losing my mind,
Losing my mind,
But I love this wild ungrounded feeling,
Of losing myself to the unforeseeable future

Should we bow heads in shame when we grok we need Grace,
find there's gold we can mine in 'forgiveness of self?'
Is God's Grace only known when we give it away?
Lord, can poetry blossom we force into play
or seed’s germ floats ungrounded, potential unknown?
Do we will or choose choices life offers? Life's loan,
defecation of stardust, belongs on God's shelf,
we survive in a minefield, or God chose our place?

Let me write what I feel if not do what I say,
not let my understanding inhibit God's voice!
We can seek to do good or pretend we don't care.
I desire to serve God though I die in the lair
of a lion or lions! A quick death can't suck!
A life lived, as pariah's prescription for luck?
As I greet each new day may I pause to rejoice,
though sun dies in the West, no day's ever passé.

Faded With the Night

Within the cinereal swirls
of clouded skies
I hear the quickened beat
of my pulse, fall within my steps
and the echoes of mind
on these empty streets
as i walk alone, lost
beneath the shadows
of buildings that fall
from lambent light
of crescent moon
in its slow rise

I see the glimmer
of thousands of faceless stars
among night's ebony drop
as they trace the darkness
scribbled through fate,
the distance between us
is just as great.

I feel hidden from life
like the last leaf
on near naked trees
beneath winter's frigid touch
yet i cling beneath the winds of time
ungrounded, yet untouched

Alone I wonder about life's great plan,
encompassing me and my vision at hand.
Drawn are the lines to secure the path,
yet fate plays a role at my hearth.

Confused, and trying for a meditative state,
relaxing is now something that can't wait.
As time slows and I take up the pose,
I cannot decide where my life truly goes.

Try to be still, to envision the way
but I cannot shut down, my thoughts they do sway.
Relax they say, breathe and be whole,
feel the chi unfold, adhere to your soul.

The way is not mine as the minutes propose,
I cannot be idle, in a stationary pose.
As I lift myself up and come forth from the "serene",
I take the rake and wipe the sand clean.

My Five Senses

My Five Senses

For someone with synaesthesia,
I am just quite dumbfounded,
In understanding all my five senses,
That leaves me buzzing, ungrounded!

You see, it’s not very clear,
As to why this does happen,
But I see, hear, smell, taste and touch things,
As if they’re quite apparent.

I see things in color,
Like words, numbers, and notes.
Which often leaves me in a blunder,
To quote or unquote!

I taste more than just food,
Like air, space and mood,
And often compare it,
To a summer in June.

I hear most things out loud,
Like smell touch and crowds,
For where there is one, the others are around.
And often they all blend together somehow.

So, what’s simply the norm for her, them, and you,
Are just all my five senses, demanding a cue.
And if ever you meet me or another as similar,
Don’t bother to question, because for us it's quite familiar.

I Beseech You

Show me mercy, for I am weak
a wounded bird, pity I seek
unable to take flight, grounded
please stop me from being hounded
Listen to my pleading, I'm meek,

I lay here, life surely looks bleak
looking into my deaths mystique
evil everywhere, surrounded
show me mercy,

observe inner soul not physique
a living creature, I'm no freak
unwillingness is unfounded
non actions would be ungrounded
be loving, helpful, no critique
show me mercy.

Hollow

What phantasmal shadows have before my visage flown? Spectres fleeting, heart shards fled into the abyss of night. This precipice upon which I teeter yaws wide beneath feet ungrounded, clutching desperate at bosom rent and shattered. Poor shadows all, perhaps fevered dreams, vapor beneath questing fingers. Burning passions swallowed up in absence, body swathed in void. That longing which lingers, taunts with laughter empty. A reminder of figments once called 'lover' memories of hands fiery gone cold as ash. O maddened heart, cease and be still, no whirling dervish are you, but a poor fool deluded by grandeur and fantasy. Be still and remember let delve deep twisted root, fly not into the expanse for fancy, nor delusion. Hush now thou crazed spirit, struggle not and rage no more. Be still, be sill, and let whispers scream howling, echoed across the solitude. And know only the company of ghosts.

Agreed

If love calls for me
and tells me words you say bear tears
I'd fend the fear
that melts those words,
until your sense
with me
agrees

If time defaced our vows,
and closed those doors
with sounds of life awash
with these fears
With our ungrounded tears
We would charm a distant well
without a cent...
for faith you lost in me
agrees

If silky goodbyes
crown a gilt-edged pledge with grief
I'd resign
all thoughts of guided fate
Cause then...
no tear with fear
agrees

Time's Birthday
          by Odin Roark

How daunting it must be
Choosing a celebratory date

Invention adrift
Save the blue veined appendages
Holding firm the drift of time
Like a floating surreal image
Making its way up 5th Avenue
On Thanksgiving Day

How buoyant Time
Yet arguably ungrounded
Measuring not how life will continue
But only how existence has passed

Each year
Month
Week
Day
Hour
Minute
And second
An ancestral funeral
Survived only by tomorrow's unknown

A system invented to archive
Circuitous syndromes
Man-made phobias
Moment by moment reality
Representing synchronous movement
Rhythmically evaporating into
The ethereal collaborative
The indeterminate character of eternity
The immeasurable
Unfathomable
Moment that is now
No wind-up needed

Still Time insists on benchmarks
Symbolic definitions
The behind and ahead of calendars
Noted by way of bell-ringing
Clock-chiming
Sun rising and setting

Unlike us
Time's validation
Knows not culinary vices
Ice cream and cake
Champagne and caviar
And those other accouterments
Hauled out to attest
Our superior intellect

Noisemakers and confetti

Reflecting In the Wishing Well

4-19-2011 Reflecting in the wishing well
My fear subsided, for just a moment it seemed,

I reach towards the stars,my mind becomes in flight,

My feet ungrounded, my heart I am moving,
Soaring high in the sky,my eyes are wide open,

Weak shaking has passed, Last years fallen leaves pile in the corners,

New growth of the Spring appears,as if coming out of hiding.

I smell the new breath blossoming, only memories of the winter exist.

I have opened a new door, one which I had never opened before, all details become clearer,

I feel as if I’ve rested more than I have slept,my feet swishing in a cool, clear, stream, that of the wishing well.

My reflection with the sunshine at my back ,superimposes my shadow of my imagination, I want to tack up copies around public message boards.

Premium MemberNature the Destroyer

she orchestrates storms
her air - which we deplete -
she turns against us

feeling ungrounded -
she quakes inside ancient bones. . .
we feel her pain

water fills her veins
from oceanic wounds. . . .
she bleeds tsunamis

with red hot passion
she is seething at her core. . . .
fire will be our death

The Threat of Permanence

with the threat of permanence comes dependence &
with dependence comes vulnerability &
with vulnerability comes sacrifice &
with sacrifice comes reducing one’s own life by half or more &
with the reduction comes a lack &
with the lack comes a void &
with the void comes the naïveté that it can be filled by ungrounded belief &
with ungrounded belief comes faith &
with faith comes the refusal to provide evidence &
with the refusal comes certainty &
with certainty comes ignorance &
with ignorance comes sustainability &
with sustainability comes comfort &
with comfort comes complacence &
with complacence comes submission &
with submission comes defeat &
defeat is the threat realized.

Premium MemberYour Voice

Imagine a lovely garden, tea for two and this story:

The sound of your voice is a soothing balm,
That eases my tension and fills me with calm.
Whenever I'm homesick and feel all alone,
It's the sound of your voice that takes me back home,

To a time when my worries were simple and few,
And my problems, then complex, were just something new;
A thing yet untried and so they confounded,
The heart of a youngster still new and ungrounded,

In matters of managing life in extremes,
And if not for you I'd have lost many things.
It's you that has given me courage to try,
And reach out for a goal and never say die,

And though I gain comfort,
And wisdom in years,
It's the sound of your voice,
I still long to hear.

I Am a Mermaid

I am a mermaid
In my quiet sea
I see cloudless skies
I dream cloudless dreams
I bathe in my milk and honey
And seek no man no girl no money
I am swimming effortlessly
Ungrounded with no wings
And dreams
Oh by faith the dreams do me no harm ‘tall
I am merely a petal on a flower on the wall
Such peace to my drink of water is full
So many days and nights are blended together in my whirlpool
Sweet fruit of life and sugar all in un giving ways of waves
Waves my delight on by and join me
Mermaid I am here to dawn tomorrow on my feet and hands
Floating ‘til dusk on wet sand
Dreamer be no harm
Dreamer peace in my arms
Calm to light and day to dawn
Mermaid still away
Steal today from my skin shining and dripping in the chill of fall shoreline
Supple
Smooth
Young as air
I am a mermaid there
