He released the comb, let her golden hair fall.
Her blue eyes sparkled, they really did enthral.
The sweetness of her kiss was still on his lips.
He played with a curl at the curve of her hips.
They were just two ships passing in the night.
For both, it felt so right, as love began to ignite.
on champagne trails
of falling stars
my wishes adrift
in twilight's sighs
a horned moon flickers
its halo through clouds
a shimmer of hope
shining though
alone on the beach
my footsteps erased
with the whispers
of names on the sand
a flicker of light
winks on the horizon
of two ships
passing at sea
my dreams now aloft
atop crested waves
as the rhythm
of ocean's sad song
fades with the night
This life has become unbearable
Two ships passing in the night
For there is no greater loneliness
Than the loneliness of together
How two people can desecrate
Each other with such brutality
Two lives torn into tatters
Addicted as we, both to pain
It is easy to complain of suffering
To wallow in the agony
Hearts that beat so separate
Never again to beat as one
Dreamed it would be different
Not hollow, empty and dank
Not the life mapped by myself
Never thought I wanted this
There is no end to the bitterness
Those circles spin round and around
Trapped in a life so mundane
Feels there is no way out
There is still a part that hopes
Of a clear sky on a clearer day
To wrestle on with obstinance
Until I allow me to be me again
It’s just a matter of when,
Before I’ll fall in love again,
It’s been a long time coming,I don’t know why I pretend,
When it’s most obvious-that time again,
Many times I have walked on by,
If only I did not care,it would be like a dare,
I am without time to play the game, Like two ships passing in the night,
Only full flags are waving,rolling as the waves we’re on.
My love is a ship with no map that is spiritually lost at sea
Never finding the heart homeland of you that used to always be
Emotion waves crash over my once strong and loving bow
I will find that port of passion this is my seamen’s vow
I set my soul sail up to find that subtle soft kiss wind
But I still am a drift in an ocean of tears because we did rescind
I check my compass of fate to see where my future lies
But it doesn’t point North to your heart there will be no compromise
All at once I see a sign of life underneath the guiding moonlight
It’s your vessel searching for mine now were two ships passing in the night
We have caught each other in a net and have never had so much love before
I never want to set sail from you again I’m shipwrecked forever on your shore
I sit in the dark, night after night,
My music plays, ever so light.
Thinking of you, your eyes so blue,
Wondering what it is, that I must do.
Reach into my heart, feel the love that is there,
A love for you, that I want to share.
You are in my heart, as always will be,
We should never part, I don’t want to be free.
With you I should remain, forever and a day,
I know you feel the same, it was meant to be this way.
Are we two ships, passing in the night,
Or are we two lovers, with a love so right?
