Two Ships Passing In the Night

on champagne trails of falling stars my wishes adrift in twilight's sighs a horned moon flickers its halo through clouds a shimmer of hope shining though alone on the beach my footsteps erased with the whispers of names on the sand a flicker of light winks on the horizon of two ships passing at sea my dreams now aloft atop crested waves as the rhythm of ocean's sad song fades with the night

That opening stanza was amazing, it just drew me into this lonely feeling poem and held onto my heart the entire time I was reading. Your poetry is so beautiful.

Expressive as always, Sandy..in whispers of names on the sand..and dreams aloft on crested waves.

Didn't Sinatra have a song with this name? Oh no it was Barry Manilow, no it was Neil Diamond, I can't make up my mind, no matter back to your lovely poem, horned moon flickers love that line! An excellent read this morning!

Loved this one, I've met some lovely people from around the world and sadly never to see them again. Loved the image seeing those two ships. Tom.

Lovely, somber piece, Sandra ~ just remember, out of sight doesn't always mean out of mind. Peaceful dreaming, my friend <3
