all twitchers at heart
the lake waders welcome me
aligned to wind's bluff

Premium Member Bashful Birds Cry

I wonder whether the birds I watch
mind being watched?
Do they wonder what the hell
the bird watchers are looking at so intently,
with such devotion to the census?
Or wonder what are the itchy twitching bewitchers
are carrying in their camera bags?
Can there be no privacy for flimsy shy flutterers?
Why can't the twitchers leave us be
to flock and gaggle free of the
unwelcome stares of
the watching wardens?

Haiku - Winters Tribulations

HAIKU - WINTERS TRIBULATIONS

~~~~~~
bold... the jenny wren
brazenly makes itself heard
twelve grams of pleasure
~~~
the starling mimics
its feathers dusted heaven
iridescent hues
~~~
ornithologists
bird watchers, spotters, twitchers
bird carers all
~~~
o the winter cold
fingers shrivel... nigh frozen
home... warm... hot achs... thawed
~~~
fickle winter days
hazel bloomed three months early
no autumn nuts
~~~
the wrath of winter
ice sheets... snow blankets... cold beds
resilient wildlife
~~~
the devil thwarted
hark... you'll not beat me... it swore
winter -50... spring hiding
~~~
spring sprites play music
snowdrops shake off cold winter
rivers free to flow
~~~
winter... sunny days
steals the warmth... in vain
sunlight nurtures
~~~
fresh growth braves the cold
green tips protrude... seeking light
summer warmth awaits

Horde of Twitchers

horde of twitchers
in the forest-
birds chirping back

A Night Wish

A salacious wind passes by
and kisses the skin. Fireflies’ glows
dance about in the dark
and lure the twitchers of the night.

A woven sheet spreads over
and warms the lonely bed—
wind becomes stunned, with smiles on the wall.

Dream with
two eyes of passion deeply longing for your
remnants.

The clouds so gentle with stars winks—
sigh, then tiptoe away, and yet wish me not
of goodbyes. Still the silence of the night whispers
you, through the window of a relentless heart.

A Beauty That Never Sleeps

O, Pearl of the Orient, land of my great ancestors---
the Poets, the Writers, the Historians, the Leaders, the Novelists
the Peace Makers, the Inventors, the Rice Growers, the Seafarers
the Scientists, the Doctors and Nurses, the Performing Artists
the OFW’s and me---Mabait Na, Masipag Pa, from your tears

Let me flutter, with my fragile wings, through Chocolate’s Hills
that they may learn the true essence of your will
that they may hear the gentle sound of your dancing wind
that they may also feel the nobility you shared, with me
and above all, that they may know you, the land of my great ancestors

O, Pearl of the Orient, like a beautiful, caring mother---
that has un-replaceable love, beauty and wisdom, embracing cheerfully
the twitchers of your hospitable heart, even if I will have a short life
surely, I’ll not try, but I will pattern their souls, on your lustrous smile
and we’ll walk them, together, on Luneta Park that you, once, walked me

The Twitchers Balloon

the twitchers balloon
passing over the mountain
did they hear its chant?

Beneath Your Scented Feet

Dwindling summer, keeps hordes of twitchers away;
Acropolis, fortress with a very charming height;
Promise not to cry, I shall see you in the sky
For a glass of ouzo, in beautiful moonlit night!

Though, Sunday is fine for me to sneak around;
Approaching your beauty, really, is not that easy free;
For loyal gatekeepers are watching the town,
I must take refuge, under the romantic olive tree!

While savoring your fragrance, in solitude!
I hear a man, singing in a falsetto;
For my unwanted skin attracts multitude,
That I decided to stay incognito!

As I huddle beneath your famed and scented feet;
Waiting for a chance, so I can kiss you goodbye;
Birds warble, sending jealous gods to fall asleep
Inspired by your beauty, in your arms, let me die!

Dans l'autre face de la grande Meditteranee;
Et, avant que je retrouve cette sliver,
Qui ma aidé a rentré au quai des Milliardaires;
Par les grincements des petites roues rondes;
Quand vous avez montré une flip-flop dans l'air ;
Etant bien apprécier ainsi que…des twitchers,
Qui aiment la sérénité et la beauté d'Antibes;
La veille ville, où mon esprit reste à vivre;
Comme juste...une petite nouvelle;
Jusqu’au jour, qu'on ne se retrouve plus à respirer;
Ah voila, le panda à coté ! Qui vous considère comme son aîné ;
Sa caresse et ses larmes pour les bénéficies des autres;
