Do you have art any influences in your family? Asked Professor Staff.
Calista, a new freshman in KCK college began to laugh.
Everyone in my family is a cartoonist or a painter she said.
You get this from your parents? He wondered outside his head.
My mother, my father, and especially Grandma McVey.
Grandma McVey has an art studio; where she sits every day.
She paints with fluorescent acrylic turquoises and pinks.
Her clothes are dotted, speckled and smeared with inks.
Since I was two, I have been a painter, because that is what we do.
I am fond of texture, color, pencils, erasers, and paints of every hue.
The professor said, “I doubt there’s anything I can teach you,
You see, your Grandma McVey was once upon a time my teacher too.”

Vermeer would have loved this corner to paint
It has the Dutch colors, sliver of sunshine ambiance
I took out my brushes and paints, and began to mix
So many diverse turquoises, could I capture them?
I resolved to try

Three adventuresome triplets were challenging the forest of the fey
When the sky turned to night, and the regular colors turned away.
A psychedelic hue came upon everything they saw including them.
Neon purples and turquoises changed every mushroom leaf and limb.
There she is, said Weewee, the leader of the triplet three.
Indeed, she was, right in front of them, the Goddess Missy Mee.
In the form of a giant jellyfish, as promised by the prophecy.
It is as the soothsayer told us, said Weewee’s sister Twee.
Their brother Bart was terrified, he hid his eyes under his cloak.
They were overcome with snickering from an overbearing oak.
It’s not nice to make fun of people, Weewee said to the tree.
I was laughing at something else he said, “Please excuse me.”
Goddess Missy Mee gave them some ideas, put them into their head.
Let them wander around, thinking about them, before they went to bed.
Utilized these ideas when they grew up, converted others thoughts too.
Many journeyed out here to see Missy Mee, I was one of ninety-two.

My closet is filled with beautiful clothes
Blouses in pinks, oranges, blues
Dresses in turquoises, golds, silvers
Fluffy fake fur coats in black, white and gray
I adore colors, patterns and textures.
Loving paisleys, zigzags, multi-patterned clothes
Not as fond of polka dots or stripes
Too symmetrical
I prefer clothing that looks like it was designed by
Klee, Miro and Dali
I am an artist; it is in my nature to be lop-sided.

I am a whirlwind of colors
Oranges and turquoises
I dance among tulips
Careful to not tread too proudly on violets
I am a unicorn’s horn
My striping parading through a forest
Showing up the oak trees
I look down on them and laugh
I am a bowl of crisp Lucky Charms
Children are fighting over my green moons and yellow suns
I am optimism and hope
I am rejoicing in my selfness.

When I have said my final vows
Prepared to make my final bows,
I will ponder my life choices
Probably wherefores and hows.
Should have heeded wiser voices
Tuned out distracting noises,
Sought more time in meditation
Worn the soft tones, no turquoises.
I will make this dedication
To give more in expectation,
In turn, a better person be
Because of pure supplication.

Turquoise and aquamarine uplifts me
whether in a swimming pool liner
a new sundress, a polka dotted ribbon on a hat
or a gemstone.
This hue is mystically magical in my soul’s mind.
She inspires my imagination to play and frolic.
She brings me the Hawaiian ocean.
I see white sand without foot prints.
She is more popular with me than diamonds.
Thus, I traded my wedding ring for
A gorgeous blue topaz pear on a beautiful opal band
The wedding ring with a diamond is somewhere…..
When the light hits my turquoise ring,
there are moonbeams and sunbeams
Reminding me of 1957 Chevy, and a gorgeous prom dress
I wore as a senior. She replenishes and refreshes me.
Turquoises or aquamarine are as much a Gemini color
As purple, silver or green; in my case, more uplifting
than diamonds, jade, or amethyst.
I adore the joy this color brings me.

Amber is my color
It's a color of ember
Remember December…
How cold it was - I remember
It is now November…
No longer October…
Amber is my color
It's a color of ember
My mind is such a blur
I can hardly remember
The times we spent last November
Yellows and oranges are falling from the sky
Reds and blues are seen too, I cannot deny
Greens and purples are almost gone out of sight
Tans and pinks are twinkling like stars tonight
Grays and browns are also roaming away for quite a little while
Turquoises and lilacs float away like a feather for a marvelous mile
Violets and teals are fluttering away like a butterfly out of a captivity-bound cage
Emeralds and roses collide with each other and they are never, ever on the same page
However, amber is my color…
It's the color of burning ember

I am dressed in spectacular colors today – pinks, greens, blues, turquoises, oranges, a bit of red, and two colors of purple. There is a key around my neck, but I am not locking myself into any one color. Carefree, happy, loving my plethora of vibrant colors, I laugh realizing I match my living room.
Every color I have ever met is there – shining love toward me from creations out of my own exaggerated imagination station.
It pleases me that I am surrounded by happy things.
They remind me of hours of pleasure I have had, reaching for my paints, taking long
Daydream breaks where I stared out into my forest, imagining what was watching me back from hiding places.
Artist me is in full exuberant form today, thinking of my blessed life.
A life created by playful me.
We smile at our self.
Always ready to play.

When you push your hair to the side of your forehead,it makes a wind.
A wind that makes, waves on the ocean of your eyes.
It doesn't matter what the temperature is,in the depth of your eyes every thing is the same.
People, can't see the deep parts of the ocean, since, the light they see by can't reach the depth of your eyes, but I can see your turquoises.
