she lives in color

she is too colorful to live in tan blah-ness like her mother
an artist, she surrounds herself with oranges and turquoises
her place has splashes of silver, gold, purple and neon green
she invites her co-workers to a New Years Eve party
One of them looks up and says “I bet that’s her place”
Because her bulbs are red and green and blue.
She lives in color; she is an artist.
