Trillionth Poems

Premium MemberAn Assassin of the Deep

Signal fires by the second ignite the abyss
Only an assassin of the deep that knows not to miss
Love in the universe more than defines this
Darkness is given more than a trillionth kiss
Snaking through the galaxy distruction in its hiss
Identifying as a rock it will leave a mark on this premiss
Gone will be all worries brought by its dismiss
Noting the impending doom, I will enjoy such bliss

a millisecond -
like one grain of sand among
all the universe -
history’s hourglass running
on earth and other planets

now imagine this -
all those gaps as one big void
spread out over time
a void which measured would be
one trillionth of unblinked time

In a jiffy

Ye might be feather light, lean or leafy,
You scarce can a spot kiss in a jiffy,
Till a bird be of flight
That flies faster than light,
Jiffy is a birdie a bit iffy.
________________________
Jiffy is equal to about 33.3504 picoseconds (one trillionth of a second). Now, to reach anywhere in a jiffy one must travel one centimetre faster than the speed of light. Can you?

Craggy, stone clad, and smooth topped mountains

Faceted amethyst, gleaned from the rough,

Trillionth cut diamonds, immeasurably

Shining with the brilliance of incandescent sun,

Blazing a trail for arbored glens, ice-laden caverns,

Deep sea excursions, clay-red banks,

Snow-capped mountains against stark blue heavens

Laden with unseen billions of stars!

Endless streams run unencumbered over stones,

Rock cliffs, flowered mounds,

Seeping through crevices florinated by nature’s

    whims.

A vast horizon, stretching beyond vision’s expanse,

Dipping slowly to tantalize the presence of celestial

       orbs,

Focusing attention on deep emotions,

Teeming, yet subdued in contemplation of

       paroxysmal reaches.

A World Spinning Backwards - Prophecy of Our Fate

Traveling in reverse to right all the wrongs,

Into past days rushing to stop those hours of pain,

History kneeling in shame before its future,

Knowing its yesterdays must answer to its tomorrows,

Each human seeing their one trillionth of responsibility,

Multiplied by brother and sister into a mountain of sorrow,

Pleading to turn back a living clock already unwound,

Dreams buried in yester years that never came true,

Loving so many that they left so carelessly behind,

Only worth measured by gifts of happiness bestowed on others,

Stumbling over heaven bound cobblestones laid thoughtlessly downward,

Unaware of poor crawling faces straining to look upward,

Necks serving as steps for those too richly religious to break them,

Scaling cliffs that once were oceans they came from,

A world spinning backwards into an oblivion called Hell.

"A poem to me is the essence of any thought,
Being built from its foundation into tower scraping sky.
It can fly like no other bird to places never seen,
Even spaceships can only dream of taking its place."

I'M Sorry

You used to call me by my nickname, now you don't call at all.
I know I made the first move, but it was the only move.
In my mind I told you I'd be back in three seconds...guess I counted wrong.
It's been three months since our fight, can you please just talk to me?
My life's gone through too many tunnels to count.
How did I break your heart, how am I to blame, why am I not ashamed?
You're one of a kind and yet you changed because of what I did?
I'm sorry for the trillionth time!
Just forgive me already!
My past doesn't want to come back, so stop trying to make me feel like a jerk.
I didn't dump you, it was all a little argument!
I miss you. The old you!
I'll never get to see her again!
Thanks a lot inner demons of John Monteblanco.
