Gray ground squirrel and toughie buffie elf both wanted the nut.
It’s is mine! Yelled the elf. Squirrel knocked him with his butt.
I say it’s mine! The elf insisted, persisting hoping squirrel would leave.
Instead that motorcycle squirrel showed him his tough guy tattoo sleeve.
I guess we could share it the elf suggested, reluctantly.
The squirrel knocked him out of that persnickety old pine tree.
Seriously! He yelled from his sprawled place on the ground.
How did such a mean squirrel ever get the best squirrel crown?

yes madness no
i cannot -
hear
for all the talk talk ...
see
for the smile displays a horror
the
odoriferous stench
of the inevitable inimical political scientifical
is a rough toughie
I refuse the obligation when the
taste
rankles to a treacle so
keep talking -
while I
touch
a leaf
to feel my life

I think that I shall never know
A poem lovely as the snow
The snow that melts in the hot sun
And makes playing with it so fun
The snow that's white, soft and fluffy
And stirs the heart of a toughie
The snow that looks quite delightful
Watching it fall, I'm insightful
Sometimes it's slick and wet and cold
But life's hidden beneath its hold
A poem has that special glow
But e'en it can't compete with snow

I have no idea, she told me. Better ask Toughie, he will know.
I have never been to a motorcycle rally, there is an excitement glow.
Another guy said the same thing. Better find Toughie, he’s on a bike.
The whole place seemed to know him, but what did he look like?
I figured Toughie was big, wild looking, with at least one tattoo.
I would ask six or eight people about him before I was through.
I hear you are looking for me, a voice yipped from the crowd.
It was a tiny dog, but his voice was extremely proud and loud.
No, I am looking for Toughie, I told him, in a persnickety way.
A bunch of other bikers began laughing; they were merry and gay.
That is Toughie; see his helmet? A club member said to me.
AMA, ask me anything; he is the smartest one you’ll ever see.
I thought AMA was American Motorcycle Association, I said.
They laughed at my idiocy, I’ll remember this until I am dead.
You aren’t from around here, Toughie guessed, going easy on me.
He had all the answers, and was as kind as could be.

She is meowing loud,
this unwanted gray kitty in a cardboard box;
so fluffy,
what a toughie;
with feet that look like four white socks,
scruffy;
love her,
kiss when she talks;
purrs . . .
she is meowing loud,
with feet that look like four white socks:
. . . purrs

Two old country gentleman step out on an autumn night
And stare into the heavens to see the stars so bright
One last walk before our repose for relief and fond reflection
I stand with eyes wide in wonder at the symphony of Gods perfection
Toughie my old gentleman dog sniffing and finding his spot
He listens to the symphony and hears what I can not
The subtle nuance of chirping frogs and crickets in the wood
Oh the conversations we could have if only we understood
Calm and dark as the cool wind whispers
I reach down and feel the brush of his whiskers
He is done and the moment has past the bed is calling rest
So in we go, out go the lights and thank God for we are blessed

Hello day! I'm ready for you
Show me what you got
Try to put a kink in my armour
Just gimme your best shot
Go ahead I dare you, pal
Nothing can put me down
See this grin across my kisser
No way you can make it a frown
I really don't got no negatives
So how'd like dem apples
It won't do you no damn good
I'm a toughie for you ta grapple
You thought you had me yesterday
But I rebounded real quick
So don't you try messing with me
A fight is what makes me tick
My happiness is here to stay today
I feel it in me bones
Happiness wins another round
So you won't be hearing no moans!

As challenges go, it's a toughie
can't think what i'm doing it for
really not sure if this will turn out well
only I've never tried this before.
Some poets efforts on this website
triumphantly put mine to shame
I'll hope for a score of a two, maybe four
can't get seven for something this lame!

She is the golden girl, Betty White
She states she has a two story house
For exercise she goes up and down
Hopefully she is not in a gown!
Coolest, wittiest lady, Betty White
She states, you want to be a toughie?
“Grow ******, they can take a pounding”
Her hilarious humor are outstanding!
