A backyard planter bursting with
Tomatoes on the vine
Provided treats for several mouths
And one of them was mine.
My son’s the one who grew ‘em.
His daughter and her aunt
Plucked only those deemed red enough;
The rest stayed on the plant.
While picking was in progress,
My son trimmed leaves that died,
Which my grandgirl helped me gather up
To toss off to the side.
Though not all family members
Helped to make the chore complete,
We all reaped the rewards
Of those tomatoes, ripe and sweet.

Give me an a.
Add an N and a G.
Put on a B
Take off the G
Tack on a D.
Toss off the B.
Now you can add whatever letter
you want to the engine.
Sand, stand, gland, rand
Wonder why reading is so complicated?
But why are we not teaching phonics?
I am lying in my veins today looking at this
with concern…

Yes, “going with the flow” has found new meaning on Hawaii’s coast
The lava there from many fissures covers earth like jam on toast
Though driven just by gravity as soon as it has found release
It’s path remains a tortured trail while searching for another peace.
In rush downhill the lava head can cool and form a blocking wall
That forces molten rock behind to split like shoppers in a mall,
So sometimes homes or even villages are saved from Pele’s ire
The lava flows where none could guess, while local’s stand and watch hellfire.
So, “going with the flow” won’t mean things always go the way you want,
And sometimes life is lost as well which Godly folk might see as taunt,
Ascribing guilt to those whose only choice is sit and wait a while,
To toss off heaven’s challenges, greet “Acts of God” with human smile.
For God, if he is truly real, is part of what ”the flow” must be,
His actions though they might seem dire have consequences you won’t see,
And riding on His currents just might save your strength for final swim,
Though you may doubt, don’t discount view that heart and soul belong to Him.

"I have sparklies in my eyes", says my daughter
I must agree for conversation fodder
You do have twinkles I can see
It's oh so nice when you are three
The grass is a perfect green for tea
I think I need to be a bubbly three
I'll put sparkles on my eyes so free
You can have the boa pink
I'll take the blue without a stink
As long as we can take off shoes
We'll drink our tea and talk and snooze
We'll toss off all these business blues
we need to make those dark mud stews
we need to tickle your giggles glee
Because mine are harder to break free
The week is office wall confined
our product plans are so sublimed
But with a little tea and dance
Monday's mind will be like a lance
Cause it's in the weekend we find our sparklies
The wand, under the desk, to chase malarkies
The cup of tea so flowery and fine
to celebrate this awesome design
Just one question is left at her behest
"Why is the weekend only two days rest?"

...Actually polish with a furniture polish...
Not use it as an air freshener.
...Notice the surrounding wildlife...
Pick any room of your house.
...Finally do laundry...
And separate the colors.
...Strike up a conversation...
With that wrong number.
...Assign page numbers...
To the Internet.
...Watch a special on Hawking theories...
Then call the BBC to argue a point.
...Write a nonsensical toss-off...
Next day, it still makes sense.
You're absolutely Human...

Something I said or did not say?
Something I did or did not do?
Don't get the painful game you play
I want to remain friends with you
So sorry...didn't mean to offend
Thought we were giggling and poking fun
How can I ever make amends?
When I don't know the CRIME I have done
Not one single peep THAT'S for sure
Since that night we talked on the phone
At least break this silence of yours
Say "Go to hell" or "Leave me alone"
Don't just toss off a foolish old man
With a flip of your hand with no frets
We are here for such a short span
I won't waste it, yet still "All regrets"
