You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all of the time—Lincoln
Truth’s a slow lumbering giant
As his fools remain compliant
Lies bite and scurry
To a clueless jury
Nurtured to be spoiled and defiant
His sophistry made sense to the hillbillies who were listening
They ran out and told it as if it was gospel
Because to them, it was
They had no idea he was a conman.
They thought he was an honest man,
but alas, they were tricked by his tomfoolery.
Tiptoe through the tulips
Tumble across the grass
Teasing behind a tree
Try kiss a Bonny lass
Time out for a sandwich
Taste homemade lemonade
Those days will never fade

Oh let's do something crazy
Let's go moonbathing at night
and we can knock on doorbells
and then have a rainball fight
Or let's go on a rampage
of destruction of all fear
We'll wreak some anti-havoc
spreading harmony and cheer
People need to drop their worries
go outside and play
a good old game of hide and seek
and we can lead the way
It's time for some tomfoolery
and high jinks to abound
Too many people lose themselves
in troubles so profound
So let's try something crazy
Oh I know what we can do
We'll skip some pebbles 'cross a pond
and climb a tree or two
We'll take your heavy burdens
and just toss them in the air
and then we'll dash through flowery fields
without a single care
Life is getting very short
it's time for boisterous fun
And many will not understand
until their time is done
Tomfoolery and high jinks
are the order of the day
We'll throw in some shenanigans
while laughing all the way

Yup, did it again...2 am, and I lost 4 or 5 poems...which will have to be redone...I
will try to wait till tomorrow, as I am exhausted from a stressful day...what am I
doing wrong??? However, in the past, when this has happened, I find I can not
go to sleep...my mind won't let me, so I wind up getting up, and back on line...and
as so many times too often, greeting the rising sun with weary eyes and weary
body...and no TV to watch, it's all paid programming, infomercials, and the
likes...and unlike the classic telemarketers, who'se chain I pull with great
glee...being overly friendly and asking "dumd" questions ...and baiting them for
upcoming sarcasm...I LOVE a battle of wits...on my last psychiatric evaluation
last month, by the time I was done with that "shrink", he needed a psychiatrist!!
Just give me a pompous fool, and in no time at all, I'll deflate their egos and they
will go home crying...later...
