Venezuelans have taught me to laugh
Assyrian refugees how to cry
Russians have taught me diligence
Hindus to face hard times with a sigh
Koreans have taught me courtesy
Thais a sense of wonder
Mongolians have taught me love of country
Africans that they are NOT down under
Greeks have taught me exuberance
Turks a sense of humor
Saudis have taught me humility
Romanians, not to believe mere rumors
My job is to teach them all English, as best I can
The truth is that they have taught me, how to be a good man!
Have I need for tuned wind chimes to know that you're near?
Or a president's pardon to feel in the clear?
For anxieties vanish like rain on spring's grass
With our turquoise, soft skies, and love filling my glass.
Oh, a day like today seems to conjure a kite!
The scant string that restrains me helps add to the height
Of the visions you show me! The breezes you bring!
"If I had a real heart," I think 'Tin Man' might sing.
Like a 'Strad' played by Menuhin! Purposes meld:
"Meditation on Thais," lofts notes that get spelled
As by plane. All see "L-O-V-E!" The truth floats in the sky!
Music's 'goosebumps' suggesting a sound bye and bye!

The Food & Drink
I read about onions it isn`t fattening
only it smells so beautiful when fried it is tempting
to add a burger or sausage and that`s fattening.
Fried onion added to Thais soup is out of dreamland,
I`m hungry but had to wait two hours, because if I eat it now
I will be starving later. My dream is to eat and drink what I want
and as much I want, alas, life isn`t quite like this
Excesses are lovely and we ought to do something
extreme once in life before we end up eating soup for lunch
with water and no wine.
Dog Gone Languages
All dogs bark except the Dingo
Humans think they know the lingo
But truth be told – reality
It’s a different sound in each country
In Arabic – hau-hau, how-how
Armenian – haf-haf
In Cantonese – wow-wow, wong-wong
Bulgarian – jaff-jaff
In English it’s arf-arf, bow-wow
In Malay it’s gong-gong
The Germans hear wuff-wuff, vow-vow
The Thais just hear hong-hong
I’d give you more but that’s enough
You need to know this other stuff
Dog barking has one common vice
A dog will always speak it twice
No matter how we hear the bark
Between two dogs it hits the mark
They seem to understand all others
Better than we do our brothers
