Terrence Poems

If the world was run by John Conway,
or our young friend, Terrence Tao,
things would run smooth and efficiently,
and this is most provably how -
with the Sieve of Eratosthenes, it could be done.
Boys and girls would have so much fun.
and every boat and sailing ship
would glide upon a Mobius strip,
costing but root negative one.

On the Island It Was Different

Woke up this morning
take awhile for
me to sleep last night
Sunshine in the morning
everythings gonna
be alright
read the letter
you left me
don't forget
to get the tuxedo
and your gown
taking off early before
evening
Me and my baby
ggoing out on the town
dancing
romancing
Cuddling up with
my Lady
We gonna Dance
the Night away
Dining on the
terrence
Groove the night away

"out in the World"
Me and my Lady
Kissing and stuff
Romancing my Baby
they sing ah song
one worth listening
I'm in the mood for
love
Smucking and Kissing

I'm in the mood for love
let's spend the night
together
I'm in the mood for love
it warm out
We love the weather
I'm in the mood for Love
with my sweet unobtainible thing
I'm in the mood for love
let's listen to them sing

Ah-ooh ah- ah.
like when they say
when they snap there fingers
and dance the night away
ooh-la: la-la, la-la
They want us to be
Kissing

Fossil Worlds Yearning

Fossil Worlds Yearning

I
find
fossils;
this is my
passion and calling.
But layers of strata show a
separation from them to me, telling me of deep
time passing that will never be bridged. Oh, how I wish I could go back to those past worlds!

For my dear departed friend Dr. Terrence Frest, paleontologists/malacologists. Like those past worlds I wish him back.

An Ocean of Fear

life itself is an ocean

full of whales and sharks

sometimes swimming, sometimes sailing

sometimes surviving in an ark

don't be scared John Henry

just avoid the guns and knives

stay away from jealous men

and don't look at their wives

don't be afraid Hattie May

of the word woman and what it means

dignity and shame are both

worldly things that we give a name

plots and lies pollute the mind

and may cause death and doom

but they can only harm you

if you give them enough room

be cautious Terrence Avery

but not with fright and fear

success and failure are both measures

but they do not define your years

fear not Fenita Diane

for not all of life is loss and regret

and though there be tears and agony

joy and gladness awaits us yet

just wait Felisha Louisa

for we do not know the distance

between gut's and glory

having to risk, needing to save, wanting to win

are tools to fight our fears

bravery, faith and failure

inspire us, each in it's own way

but trying is the only way

to conquer our day and days

our oceans aren't uncrossable

if we make our fears behave

Being flings
Becoming forms
Living sings

First cause
Showers effect
Becoming patterns

Hurl and twirl
Form now swirls
Being unleashed

Moment to moment
Here and now
Becoming norm

Change charades
Masks and disguises
Karmic consequence

Start and end
End and start
Ripple effect

Round and round
The creeping vine
Fruits in clusters

Construct new
Destruct old
Instruct form

Time and space
Illusions all
Allusion tells
