plopping down ‘midst marshmallow grounds
the bunnies advanced by leaps and bounds
ahead of the hounds who the marshmallows found
~ tastier than bunnies pound-for-pound

I love a long holiday and as a general rule
you’ll find me out by a turquoise pool
cause it’s hot outside and I’m nobody's fool.
Closing my eyes I lazily daydream
listening to my favorite music stream
umbrella shaded from harsh sunbeams.
I’ve put away polemic school assignments
for leisure and tastier desultory refinements
like buffalo wings, pizza and dirty martinis
and the barely there cool of a string bikini.

Tingling of tongue sent Euripides
Questing a tastier kind of cheese.
"I found cheddar magical,"
Said this poet tragical,
"Sailing the southern antipodes.”

You plunge your fist into the creeping
milieu of the ice cube by your ‘20s daydream.
Does it not hurt? but it does, and you quickly
retreat, surrendering to primal, human instinct.
Your skin is not bland, but sticky with fear and blank
expressions and wistful thinking, you disgust dogs.
Does the rainy tapestry’s ambient face not disturb you?
but it does, and you scratch it until your fingers leak.
In the restaurant with the piano man, he seems nice;
he seems nice; he seems tastier than your empty plate.
Does the melody not enrage you? but it does, and you
plead to your god for one more chance.
On the treadmill, adding the highest speed, you believe
you’re a masochist, but not after a minute; you’re hilariously wretched.
Does your love of ghosts not riddle your spleen with blahs?
but it did; you lay in your hollow sheets, your grandmother called.
Sordid, vizier’s fool; starry faces tickle the curves of your ears;
ha ha
ha ha
they can’t scathe you if you get off on laughing at yourself.

Pooh brightens by her smile,
All need Nori’s pearl white teeth,
Eye twinkle, greeting dimple,
An elegant yet humble style!
A spiritual treat,
More nutritious than food simple,
Your smile is fuel for a mile!
Warming hearts by friendly heat,
Shelter great, more than a mere temple,
Comforting Tom, Koneh & All as a tropic isle!
Laugh lines tastier than meat,
Brings joy ample,
Free! in Nori’s checkout aisle!

(Recipe from Grendel’s recipe book)
Note: Sequel to Grendel’s Supper (also posted on PoetrySoup)
Ingredients
• Fresh Unferth meat (taken from the bones of old man Unferth)
• Other human meat/parts
• Marsh water
Directions
1. Outside at night, build a fire under the eating pot.
2. Throw Unferth meat into the pot.
3. Throw other human parts into the pot.
(Pot must be large enough for the bulk of a human’s flesh.)
4. Throw in any animals who might wander by that would make the stew a tastier concoction.
5. Eat right out of the pot.
6. Share with other monster allies.

FROMAGE BADINAGE
Some cheeses improve with age
But, in danger of being verbose
Just serve me plain and mature
Yellow, without that thick rind
And tastier on the tongue, I find
Not fancy, with that false allure
As some blue veins are varicose
But wait, there is a war to wage
Never the plastic American kind
But calling it sharp, it’s still bland
Some made backwards, as Edam
There’s French ones, some smelly
I’ve seen them advertised on telly
As cheese, Philadelphia is a sham
And yet so few dairies understand
Please keep it natural, not refined
A few odd cheeses can squeeze by
As Greek Feta or Cyprus Halloumi
From Italy, there is Mozzarella too
For pasta, it is Parmesan, of course
With a true origin one can endorse
All should be entitled to their view
I report what I taste, so just sue me
And crumbly cheese makes me sigh

How does she get so many things done and make it look like fun?
We all stared at the woman, lying out in the sun.
She was reading a book, showing off her burgundy hair.
Like a lioness, she was also observing six children in her care.
She ran the entire spelling bee by herself last Saturday.
She has endless energy, stated my cousin Gay.
Her pies are tastier than anything I could ever bake.
She is a healthy wizard who never has any kind of ache.
The woman in question reached up into her hair.
Took out a streak of magic and hit Gay in the derriere.
I began to laugh my petootsie off, so she zapped me too.
She is brilliant, we both agreed, but also a tiny bit shrew.

FEAR NOT TO VISION
Fear not to vision
Trust to catch stardust from
Whence we came
Create a new World, woven
With Peace and Patience
Fear not the glaring blaze of Light
It dazzles us with lucid eyes
To clarify the vision
Brighter than newborn blood
Tastier than marula fruit
Smelling of cinnamon and rubies
A father sails the seven seas
Luminous guides smile
In another land
God speaks loud as DNA unfurls
Unfurls in the Void

Chef rabbit’s specialty was lovely, marvelous cabbage-carrot stew.
One year there was a drought, and he did not know what to do.
No cabbage anywhere around, okay, maybe he could scrounge up two.
He substituted lettuce, and it was tastier, on a scale, twenty-two.

To make a superb drink that is unique, grapes must be crushed to make wine.
It makes the meal even tastier when friends and family together dine.
To obtain the sparkle and brilliance, diamonds form under tons of tremendous pressure.
Success cannot be obtained without turmoil, loss, or trials in obtaining a life of leisure.
Olives are pressed to release their oil.
In order to reach a destination, there must be a certain amount of effort and toil.
Seeds germinate in darkness before their flower and their fruit reaches out to the light.
Whenever you feel crushed, under pressure, pressed or in darkness, you are in a powerful place of transformation coming into sight.
Once the stillness comes into your life, the mind also becomes solemnly still.
When your mind becomes still your intelligence explodes finding unknown secrets from within that move my quill.

In medieval times, peasants began to weep
when beneath the castle, in a stronghold deep,
flames from mouths of dragons began to sweep
over the realm, tired of dinging too long on sheep.
They took to wing, soaring with swift speed
Searching for tastier meals upon which to feed.
"South" screamed Blathazor, the eldest decreed!
The others obeyed him. Glad they had been freed!
Weeks passed and humans lay dead.
Others tried hiding, living life with dread
but the gluttonous dragons were all well-fed
feasting on villagers with rampant bloodshed.
They gutted the land of cattle and deer.
Each day another dragon seemed to appear.
Those who remained alive were terrified with fear.
Word of the demon dragons had spread far and near.
What brave hero would be found so adept
to kill the evil dragons in the cave as they slept?
A wizard flew down on his magic dragon, Culdecept.
whose flaming power destroyed them on his intercept.

Babble bear looked big and blustery and burly.
His eyes were large, and his hair was straight, not curly.
His fur was thick, and his snot was shiny and large.
He loved daisies, and the florist always said “no charge”
So, he got a bunch of honeycombs and took some in.
He put it on the counter and said, “this is a win.”
You keep giving me daisies and I will bring you honey.
It’s a lot tastier than that green yucky stuff you call money.

What's cooler and juicier
Than a long-striped rime of green,
Whose internals are fortified with
An explosion of mesmerizing desire?
Or a total circle of green without stripes,
Protectively enclosing the best of eats,
Thoroughly permeated by the color of pure red,
And speckled throughout with seeds of black?
Or if you prefer, no seeds at all to delay your treat.
And what's more tastier my friend, than a softly textured cut
Of mouth-watering goodness bite after bite after watery bite?
An oasis of succulence and sweetness to the taste of healthy Goodness awaits our sense of taste each summer with nothing To prep; nothing to waste. A watermelon sweet and cold is Like A free-wheeling bicycle ride along the countryside.
