(a silly series of Senryus)
It’s time to cram for
final exams, again, so
here we go, mug up.
My mind, coffee dark,
drifts in academic dreams,
—think roiling oceans.
A ‘mandatory’
society meeting? You’re
not the boss of me.
I’ll shun or eschew,
if I want too, sidestepping,
like a tap dancer.
I'm not lazy - I'm
high tech and in energy
saving mode now.
It’s a pointed and
conscious decision—I’ll do
me and you do you.

Extremely Fractured Footles.
Grose art
Faint heart
Write poem
Rhyme time
Compose song
Sing along
Opening night
Stage fright
Break leg Superstition
Big Audition
Ballet dance
On toes prance
Gymnast Cartwheel
No big deal
Tap dancer approaches
Kill those roaches
Featherweight fighter
Must get lighter
Jockey of course
Needs a horse
Happy Thanksgiving
Keep those turkeys living

Was going to look for my missing watch
But just couldn't find the time
Simply no telling where my mind is going
This very strange mind of mine
Here's an ultimate groaner, my friends
I used to be a good tap dancer
But then one sad day I fell in the sink
Asked how I was, couldn't answer
D'ya hear about the crime that happened
In a downtown parking garage?
It was so damn wrong on so many levels
Heard it was a case of sabotage
With the scary approach of the apocalypse
Armageddon out of here
That's silly, whoever's coming up with these
Is more than just a little bit weird
A man had a difficult time bouncing back
From a serious bungee cord accident
Been to the dentist and I know the drill
Tells me toothaches you can prevent
Reading a great book about anti-gravity
Find it almost impossible to put down
It's floating around the living room all day
One time it bonked me on my crown
Dead batteries are sometimes given away
Free of charge I've heard
Think someones's trying to brighten my day
Now that is downright absurd

We were tested on algebra
Well no duh.
I have been to trig and back
while still keeping algebra on track
These are questions you can answer
they are not asking you to be a tap dancer
Put your silly doubts to rest
and be done with this stupid algebra test!
This is done as a response to my dear friend, Bridget Williams' poem, Tested On Algebra

This is an amazing little known fact
Was once a tap dancer in an all girl act
Moves so sexy
Jiggling my belly
One offer flooded in to be exact

The Child and the Dancer
See the dancing of the child,
I think he's angry out of step and wild.
He finds it hard to see the snail,
The intense wails overshadowed rails.
Winds that are flocking near the lorry?
I think she'd like to eat in the observatory.
He is but a delightful dancer,
He admired as he sits upon a tropic of cancer.
He's exciting a tap dancer is just like a kitten,
He needs no ground, and it runs on whitten.
He's not alone he brings a cheetah,
a pet deer, and lots of rosita.
The deer likes to chase a pebble,
Especially one that's in the gable.
The audience shudders at the active stage box.
He wants to leave, but they want the block.

When she’s sick I’m so in trouble
Rocks my world, bursts my bubble,
All at once my head is spinning,
Forehead aching, hair fast thinning.
I’m not trained to handle chores,
Clean the house, go to stores,
Cook the meals, feed the kids,
My existence on the skids.
Give me patience, show me how
She won’t quickly disavow
This poor man she claimed to love
And not give him one huge shove.
I’ll do better, I’ll learn fast,
Even try to make it last,
Wash the sheets, make the bed,
Just the thought fills me with dread.
Shoulders back, chin protruding,
Smile so wide, no more brooding,
‘Yes, My Dear’ the sure answer,
Float on air like a tap dancer.
Read her cues as if an actor
Whatever challenge not a factor,
Learn each job just like a pro,
Then recount it blow by blow.
I adore this girl so much,
There’s truly nothing I won’t touch,
Clean or fix around the house
To be that perfect loving spouse.
But God I pray with all my soul
That soon you make her fully whole,
Please start now and make it fast
As for sure I won’t long last.

I saw a tap-dancer with
Squirming sheaf of vigor
Toes tapping as if dancing.
Is he hoping for a rendezvous?
His Dachshund-clan romance?
Prancing around like ponies
With gentle nose, silent eyes
With sweet licks and nuzzles.
Care free clan, if they like it
It can never be of anyone else.
If they take it anything from anywhere
It’s theirs and of nobody else’s.
The four legged hairy puppets
With all the fascinating features.
I don’t think a dachsie thinks of money
Or fame or other worldly pleasures
But thinking of the pure love of God
Remembering always those moments
By waggling his tail with pure love and joy.
When He made him to brighten up
The day of Adam and Eve and then
Christening them as “dog”, a reflection
Of His own as one looks into the mirror.
