For me the concepts of love and lust are synonymous.
Them being the same keeps things from being monotonous,
All while we each remain healthily detached and autonomous.

A skittish sun silently slips away;
a dank darkness overshadows the day.
And the children must go inside to play;
all outdoor games have been placed on delay.
April showers, synonymous with grey,
signify a spring storm is on its way.
And as a sprinkle grows into a spray,
everyone takes shelter like frightened prey.
Lightning invokes images of doomsday,
the electrified sky placed on display.
And as winds blow, all is in disarray;
the fabric of time and space starts to fray.
But the thunderstorm soon begins to stray;
cumulus clouds masking its getaway.
And a bashful sun leaves its hideaway;
while the rest of the day gets underway.

So near so far doesn’t matter
Hanging my head in shame
Been to the track once more
I’m addicted to the flame.
I gaze upon fortunes woe
Indifferent to my pain
Chosen by a path of loss
I’m broke, so must abstain.
Crumpled up my tickets
Flung them down in distain
Where they ever worth a penny
Dirty filth I curse and blame.
Backed into a corner
Outlook’s much the same
Walls closing in all sides
I cry underneath the strain.
Wasted another paycheck
Gambled away in vain
Afraid to face the music
I take a different train.
Go back to parents house
Cannot face my wife again
I hate myself I’m disgusting
Habitual loser self ordained.
My mother makes me dinner
Father says I’ve gone insane
Why does my family even care
Flushed my own down the drain.

Phyllis with happiness
just like wine
Phyllis with compassion
for our fellow man

so we will lend a hand
Phyllis with pride
so we will not stand aside
And Phillis with the Holy Spirit
so our God will be near by

I am everyone at once
Mass conformity of the perplexed individual
The ticking second hand of the 'click' cliche
Incapable of halting time to discover the tangible self
I am everyone at once
Cast as various creatures
Poles apart
Ticking on
Second by second
Minute to minute
Crowd to crowd
Restless without end
Ill at ease within my own chameleon skin
I am everyone at once
